It was ideal. I liked the fact that it was a pub as well. So I had my evening meal there. And the breakfast was excellent. Although on main road my room was quiet.
In the centre of Alnwick, this 300-year-old coaching inn is a short walk from Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Its restaurant’s decor was salvaged from the Titanic’s sister ship. Free parking is available....

It was an ideal location. The apartment gave us a nice level of independence.

How the owner was a fantastic host and nothing was a problem. Having breakfast with the dogs were my boys favourite part. Very clean and spotless would recommend to anyone.

Alnwick Castle - and Gardens - and both very impressive and the castles interiors are amazing. It is close to the wonderful Northumberland coast which, although it can be a little cold, on the fine days which we had were brilliant, especially around Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh Castles and up to Lindisfarne/Holy Island as well as the Farne Islands. There were major roadworks in the town centre of Alnwick when we visited but think these will complete in next few days. We did not visit Alnwick itself, just drove through.

Alnwick is a good place to visit and is an ideal base for exploring the area.
There are a number of good restaurants and cafes.
Alnwick Castle is worth a visit, but don’t bother with Alnwick Gardens as they are small and over priced.

This was our first visit to Alnwick and we've fallen in love! There were so many intriguing and characterful shops to explore and we were spoilt for choice for lovely places to eat. We would whole heartedly recommend eating a SherKhan - some of the best curry we've ever had - and also The Adam and Eve.
Dirty Bottles is a fab venue, great for a drink but would skip the very averge food next time.

Alnwick is the perfect place to base yourself when exploring the many castles , fishing towns and ancient relics of Britain found in Northumbria and the Borders
Alnwick itself caters for almost every sort of special
Interest with the castle itself and its gardens being the crown in the jewel .
Plenty of outdoor activities , historical places to visit , one of the countrys best bookshop and restaurants and pubs for all tastes .
One of the best towns in the UK by far .

The castle and gardens were closed but we have been in them before and so we were not disappointed. A walk along the river at the back of the castle is very nice and a good test of your waterproofs and footwear. Hulne park has good walks. Alnwick is a beautiful town. Berwick and Morpeth nearby, complement the area.

Alnwick is an excellent centre for visiting many locations in Northumberland, with lots of scenic coastline and castles on your doorstep. There are plenty of excellent places to eat however if you are going to stay over a weekend I would recommend booking a table in advance as they all get very busy. If you want to book the treetop restaurant book months on advance to avoid disappointment. Alnwick castle and gardens are a must if you have never visited before.
Location was perfect just behind Barter Books and near enough to walk to Alnwick Castle and Gardens plus everything else Alnwick had to offer.
Hosts and flat were lovely and every need was catered for in the property. There was a lovely welcome pack left for us plus milk and a bottle of prosecco, which was a really nice touch.
Beds were comfortable, furnishings were tasteful and there was plenty of hot water for baths and showers; the flat was also lovely and warm. We would definitely book again
The rooms were clean and a good size. Beds were comfortable and towels and linen were good quality.
The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was genuinely dog friendly which makes a change from those pretending to be!
The evening meal menu had a limited choice but portions were generous.
The hotel provided a convenient base to visit Alnwick Castle and town as well as Alnmouth beach and it was only 45 mins from Holy Island.
A lovely small boutique hotel, beautifully decorated in an old convent. The room was clean and comfortable with everything you’d expect.
The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful.
Breakfast was excellent with a choice of cooked options as well as cereals, pastries etc.
The hotel is right outside the gate to Alnwick Castle and only a two minute walk from the town centre.
Outstanding hotel and we would highly recommend.
Brilliant place to stay. One of the most comfortable, well equipped, clean places we have ever stayed. Everything we needed was there, as a person who likes to cook I was thrilled with the kitchen. So often you go to holiday lets and the knives are blunt and the pans sparse, but the equipment here was better than mine at home! If we’d stayed longer we would have had a go with the omelette and toastie makers.
This hotel has obviously been refurbished recentky inside and out. Efficient and friendly staff. Good value restaurant menu - obviously popular with locals too.
Great location for visiting local attractions such as Alnwick Gardens and Castle.
Cannot recommend highly enough.
Well placed hotel with free parking. We went to a concert at the Playhouse and a walk round Alnwick Gardens both of which were well within walking distance from the hotel. Room was a decent size, food was great and staff were very chatty and helpful, all in all a good stay.
Beautiful apartment with lots of little extras like dvds, books and board games if you needed them. Very clean and modern. Great location right near Alnwick Castle and very quiet
Very comfortable place to stay and close to shops in Alnwick as well as the castle and grounds.
The owners were very pleasant and always helpful.
Good breakfast cooked to order.
Gorgeous cottage in a great location. Easy parking on-road and walkable into Alnwick. Great base for everything around you, and everything you need for a comfortable stay.
