The hotel is rather grand in appearance, and inside it is also very grand-looking. Built in the late 1800's and very well appointed. The gentleman who checked us it was fantastic, and also doubled as the barman when we asked for a beer before it was really beer o'clock. There was a covered garage to park the motorcycles, and the surrounding gardens were very lovely. It was too cold and wet (late June!) to fully appreciate them. The town is busy and has many restaurants and shops. Primarily a skiing resort, the town seems to close quite early in the summer, and we found the restaurant we had selected had already closed when we got there (this is not mentioned as a reflection on the hotel, but as a guide for fellow travellers). The hotel was very comfortable.

the very warm welcome and pre arrival correspondence. The diner was incredible, we never expected to have such exiting and excellent food up in a small ski station. Good selection of wine but it was the menu (and this was apparently a quiet night so limited choice of (only!!) 3 for each course, starter, main and desert) - we were both blown away by the food and actually unable to eat it all, shouldn't have pigged out on the apero and nibbles before hand. great setting, view and location, looking out on what would be pistes, good doors to the balcony, locking out cold and noise (unusual in even the most expensive ski resort hotels). Kettle in the room for beverages
