Absolutely everything was perfect! The room we had was huge and decorated gorgeously, with a lovely view of the gardens and river, it was spotlessly clean, had a comfy bed with beautiful linen, soft fluffy towels, beautiful Clarins brand soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion (have never seen this luxury brand in any 5 star hotels), lovely gardens and pool area, was a 10 minute walk to La Roque Gageac, and is spectacularly set in an old manor house that the owner has lovingly restored from practically a ruin. Our bags were even loaded into a little electric cart which meant we didn’t have to carry them up the stairs. There was a communal fridge in the kitchen where you could keep any food of your own, along with access to plates, cutlery, wine glasses etc. The breakfast was amazing with so much to choose from including home made cakes, tarts and crème brûlée along with fruits, cheese, meats, bread, croissants, jams, yoghurts, cereal, and the omelettes were cooked to order. We were given recommendations for a couple of good restaurants nearby (one of which we tried and was fantastic), and the host even organised the breakfast buffet to be open an hour early for us when we had to leave to catch a flight. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt so very welcome. An amazing stay and the perfect end to our holiday in southern France.

One of the best holiday accommodation we have experienced. Lovely staff, great surroundings, combination of privacy and service when needed/asked for. New, modern, great technology and beds inside, beautiful old vibe environment. Dordogne is extremely charming, I do think car is necessary. We loved everything! We chose the Zen room which was wonderfully large with all the furnishings you might need. There was a desk, a bench, loads of pillows and cushions. and I loved the low armchairs, the perfect height for bending over to tie your shoes. The huge, round bathroom was really special, I loved the idea of it being in the tower. There was so much care and thought to the comfort of guests, every little thing was available. The grounds are so peaceful, it’s a real escape. But still close enough to everywhere for taking in the sights. The best of all was Laurie, the manager. She was always available, made us feel superbly pampered, she worked so hard to ensure we didn’t want for anything. The email she sent me on arrival was invaluable with information and tips on the area - what to see, where to eat, and so on. We loved the Dordogne and if we come back, we’d love to stay here again!

Where we stayed in Vezac was really closer to La Roque-...

Where we stayed in Vezac was really closer to La Roque-Gageac. There was a lovely paved walk into La Roque. It was a great base to visit the prehistorique caves of Lascaux and La Grotte de Fond-de-Gaume. It was too cool and windy to enjoy a canoe trip on the Dordogne River, but that would be fun in summer. We would have liked to have explored Sarlat,which I have visited before, but were taking a slow leisurely pace, so didn't have time.

Good location, fabulous breakfast (not included in price we paid for the room). Bravo L’Oustal de Vezac for having a good brand of loose leaf tea and wonderful infusers in fine glass mugs, best tea I’ve had in a long time. My friend said the coffee was very good also. Nice little outdoor terrace with lovely views accessed from room.

The hotel was incredibly well organized! At the reception they have a picture of current week's weather. We asked for restaurant recommendations and they already had ready a paper with list and details. The hosts were super friendly and nice! We did not expect such experience!!
