This is a truly beautiful place. The hostess of the farm is attentive and very kind. The property is designed with attention to the smallest details – you can feel that the owners have both taste and a deep understanding of how a place for rest should be arranged. The surrounding nature is magnificent: you can enjoy not only the sunrise and sunset, but also the moonrise and a sky full of stars. The sounds of nature are wonderful. There is also a shop with the farm’s own products, which adds a very authentic touch. Without a car, it would be quite difficult to stay here, as you need to buy groceries and cook for yourself. For me, however, this was actually a plus, since we were tired of eating out in restaurants.

Very small town, right in the middle of the lavender field...

Very small town, right in the middle of the lavender field area. Not much to do in it, almost no attractions, very few restaurants. But it is definitely conveniently located for lavender fields and for visiting other nearby towns. So we spend one day visiting the lavender fields and the others doing something else, but we had to pass by the fields every time. I felt that was really nice. We felt that 4 nights there was more than enough.

Sadly we arrived when the lavender fields were already cut (only few were still nice lavender colour). In the village one restaurant was opened until 23:00 and they served us even though we arrived after 22:15. The others were already closed.

A charming little village of Provence, the best time to...

A charming little village of Provence, the best time to enjoy the place and its surroundings would be June-Mid July, when the lavender grows and before it gets harvested. The area is really beautiful, but lavender being the main attraction, for those who come off season I wouldn’t recommend staying more than a day or two; as there’s much more authentic villages to discover all around. Having the chance to be living not so far from Valensole, my husband and I never cease to be amazed by this magical place.

A perfect stay at Les Terrasses de Valensole. Thank you to our hosts; Valensole: a bit dreary - very average restaurants - admittedly, we were treated to a major thunderstorm on the second night of our stay, but it could certainly "do better." We smiled when the "flying saucer" went by!

Valensole itself is a rather unattractive place in the middle of the lavender region. No hotels, just a number of chambres d'hôtes (bed and breakfasts). Strangely, there are too few restaurants... reservations are essential.

- Briggite & Sebastian were excellent hosts. I loved breakfast they prepared. I usually wake up late but for them I didn't. - The property is really tranquil, good for a small getaway from bustling city. - My room, "Verdon", is kind of like a hotel room size? Good for a couple or solo traveller. - Mahina was lovely, she followed me during one of my morning walks to the lavender fields - Glad to stay, will definitely revisit if I come back to France.

This was an absolute highlight of our extensive tour of France! A classical French château with exquisite antique furnishings, a truly amazing location in Valensole - especially if the lavender are in bloom but at any time really! The proprietors are the most beautiful people who are genuinely there to make your stay memorable. The breakfast was an incredible array of homemade French classics!

The house is in the old town of Valensole, a very convenient location for visiting the lavender fields nearby. The house is well provisioned with a kitchen downstairs and a studio room and bathroom upstairs. The host was helpful and checking in was straightforward. There is only a sofa bed but it was comfortable; sheets were provided.
