The room is fairly basic but comfortable enough of a pattern familiar in ski resorts. We had half board and so ate in the hotel restaurant. Although we shared the dining room with a coach trip, and so very busy, the staff coped splendidly. Dinner includes a generous cheese board.

Margaux is the perfect host, the apartment was wonderful with every facility one needs. Breakfast was delicious and the views from the apartment's dedicated deck were fabulous. Very dog friendly and central to the wonderful scenery of the Auvergne and Cantal. We could not fault our stay and will return.

The hotel were very helpful. Helped with the bags, and then directed us to the ski hire just round the corner, where we were able to get seen right away the evening before we started skiing. Excellent breakfast!

Staff was amazing, helpful and the location was just perfect. It's exactly where the trek fir puy de Sancy begins.we reached late and the staff helped us get ice for our beer. The location is super beautiful and we ended up watching stars at night from our rooms and woke up to the view of the mountains. One of the best hotel stays ever

The station is a bit far from shops, there's construction...

The station is a bit far from shops, there's construction work at the bottom of the building, the parking lot is poorly maintained, there are no signs coming from La Bourboule, and no shops are open. This lack of shops should be reported out of season, as the town feels deserted.

A bit dreary out of season as almost everything is closed.

A bit dreary out of season as almost everything is closed. The village lacks flowers. It's certainly ideal in winter as it's a great access point to the slopes. Out of season, I'd recommend Besse-et-Anastaise, which is 8km away.

Several hiking trails start from the resort, but it's a shame that all the shops were closed during our stay (no bakery...), and there was no activity in the resort outside of the season.

Meh: nice but nothing special: low altitude resort with no snow but prices with snow. People generally nice except at the pizzeria where the guy is unbearable with customers on site / only interested in orders. Groceries overpriced.

An ideal resort for holidaymakers like us who don't ski.

An ideal resort for holidaymakers like us who don't ski. We enjoyed some lovely hikes; the path around the lake is perfect for short walks if you don't want to or can't walk too far. The village of Besse, 7 km away, is very pretty and has lots of nice little shops.

The resort was completely empty and lifeless...everything...

The resort was completely empty and lifeless...everything was closed, from the activities (Fantasable, quad biking...) to the restaurants...even the tourist office. But as a result, it was relaxing and peaceful...luckily we enjoy walking, otherwise there would have been nothing to do.
