Our hosts were amazing, so welcoming and friendly. Our room was spacious and comfortable with the added bonus of a sitting and kitchen area off it if we wanted to cook anything or make tea and coffee. We had breakfast and dinners both days we were there and they were delicious and generous and we were able to purchase wine to go with the dinner.

The hotel is situated just outside of the town, and is within 8 kilometres from the A6, so ideal for visiting the region. The hotel is very well appointed, with large rooms, and comfortable beds. The bathroom has a walk in shower. There is a kettle, tea and coffee, and a large TV. There is also a restaurant, reasonably priced, although we did not use it. The swimming pool looked very inviting, but we did not have the time to use it. The staff were very helpful and pleasant

Everything! I can only confirm what most other reviews have said. This is exactly what a great chambre-d'hote should be like. Not jet-set luxury, but homey, clean, tastefully decorated and furnished, and attention to detail that I've rarely seen in any other accommodation. Add to that a friendly and interesting host, good breakfast, and central location, and it made the visit to Semur-en-Auxois worth the trip just for the accommodation itself.

Maison the Souhey was a breath of fresh air - literally and...

Maison the Souhey was a breath of fresh air - literally and figuratively. The home is wonderful: clean rooms, tranquil and restful ambiance. You can do as little or as much as you want in the property and neighbouring small villages. The owner is an incredible person, genuine, friendly, passionate about his craft, interesting, generous with his knowledge of the area. We loved our stay and will return.
