The outside of the building does not promise much, a bit brutal, but once you are inside, this hotel is amazing. It is welcoming and comfortable. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The room was spotless, bed comfortable and shower was OK. I had a great night's sleep and woke up refreshed. The breakfast was generous.

Amazing property just outside of Selestat, the moment we stepped in the door, Stephane greeted us warmly and ensured our stay was a comfortable one. Beautiful self-contained rooms, breakfast made every day and short distance to most parts of Alsace. We really loved it.

Nice, comfy apartment and a very helpful host. We enjoyed our stay with 4 small kids. The apartment offers modern amenities, including Wi-Fi, a washing machine, and an equipped kitchen. The City center is approx 20 minutes walk, so it is close. It is good that it has shutter and blinds as well

Good food in several restaurants in the car-free old town area. Lots of walking and bicycling paths. Good travel connections. Friendly people. Spent two days up in the Val d’Argent at the European Quilt Meeting.

We wanted to visit Strasbourg but didn't want to drive into...

We wanted to visit Strasbourg but didn't want to drive into the city so we chose Selestat with it's easy train link. We didn't expect to love Selestat better. The old town is very compact and easy to walk around. Lovely restaurants and great boulangeries.

Small very pretty Alsace town centre.

Small very pretty Alsace town centre. Good shopping, reasonable range of eating choices. Short drive from our hotel. Short walk between town centre and the railway station giving us access to other places such as Strasbourg when we chose to not drive.

We visited just before Christmas.

We visited just before Christmas. The centre of this beautiful town was nicely decorated with trees and lights everywhere and some small Christmas markets. Not as hectic as nearby Colmar, which we also visited. The shops in Sélestat offer a range of high quality and unusual gifts. There are some fantastic bakeries and coffee shops.

We chose to stay here as it seemed to be a good midpoint...

We chose to stay here as it seemed to be a good midpoint between Colmar and Strasbourg, both of which we intended to visit. However, upon arriving we abandoned plans to visit Strasbourg and instead spent the day in and around Selestat, is it was so lovely and not nearly as filled with tourists as Colmar had been. In particular, the tour through the castle nearby (Haut-Koenigsbourg) was outstanding. Also well worth visiting was the Bibliotheque Humaniste. We left wishing we'd spent a bit more time in this beautiful town - definitly a hidden gem!

Selestat was a very well placed town to explore the Alsace...

Selestat was a very well placed town to explore the Alsace region of France. It was smaller than both Strasbourg and Colmar and centrally located between those towns. Selestat had the same charm of these larger towns and we were able to make easy day trips to the larger towns and the many small villages in between. We took a week to allow easy exploration of the region, including some of the Vosges mountain range. Selestat had a good range of casual and higher end dining options, but without the crowds of bigger towns.

We had a lovely week at the apartment in Sélestat. It’s very centrally located, just a short walk to the town center with good parking options and easy access by car to many great destinations in the area. The apartment itself was tidy, cozy, and equipped with everything you need. The coffee machine, washing machine, and dishwasher were a big plus not something you find everywhere.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and great at what they do - very hospitable and passionate about making their hotel a success. The dinner was tasty and the local wines were wonderful to taste (and I believe are available to buy locally if you wish). The hotel was conveniently located near to the motorway which is what I wanted on my drive back to England from the Austrian alps.
