A very special place to stay. Beautiful, peaceful and surrounded by nature and filled with history and art, collected by the family over various generations. Very hospitable owner. We slept really well, even though it was the hottest day in Europe, with so many trees and nature around it, we had a great temperature during the night and a very restful stop in our way back home.

The host was fantastic, very welcoming , he has a beautiful property in a nice quiet spot . So much charm and character at the property . The continental breakfast and homemade cake was really nice . The location is handy we stopped here overnight then travelled further south the next morning .

Room was a bit too small -not enough space to hang clothes...

Room was a bit too small -not enough space to hang clothes and put bags away, but the bed was comfortable and clean. Lovely pool and the house it very beautiful as is the location. Staff in general were very nice. We did ask to have a drink at the bar one night when we came back from dinner and before we had finished they turned off the lights and asked us to move - which I thought was a bit strange! In general it was very nice, good breakfast which we had a couple of times and a very chilled place to stay.

We stayed one night on our way to the south of France.

We stayed one night on our way to the south of France. Location was ideal being just off the A20 and about 30 km south of Orleans. The manager spoke good English and nothing was too much trouble, she actually likes to practice her English. We had a lovely room with a balcony and a nice big bathroom. Have already booked to stay there on our return journey

Salbris is South of Orleans and is on the main non motorway...

Salbris is South of Orleans and is on the main non motorway road travelling north/south. We stayed for one night as it was a good location, having traveled from Carcassonne that day and heading for Dieppe the next day. The town seems to have fallen on hard times with quite a few shops closed/up for sale. But it may be that it's just a quiet place on a Tuesday evening in August. We found a few bars, but limited dining options outside the hotel we were staying in. But the hotel restaurant as excellent so not too much of a hardship.

The Hôtel-Restaurant La Sauldraie where we stayed was a real gem, our spacious room had an en suite large bathroom, overlooking the charming garden. The restaurant menu is traditional French cuisine, very tasty, the chef and his wife have owned and run the hotel for the last twelve years. We found it at short notice and after a delicious breakfast, carried on our journey south without seeing much of Salbris. We’ll definitely stay there again if we’re in the area, very good value and welcoming.

One-night stay. Very good. We could perhaps have stayed several days as the accommodation was very well equipped. We had dinner there – a delicious mixed salad prepared by the lady of the house. There are other restaurants nearby.

Very quiet villa.

Very quiet villa. Very close to the highway, making it easy to stop for a night's rest before continuing your journey. The house is a lovely farmhouse with its own parking. The bedroom overlooks the garden. For us, it was a great location and very quiet. The gentleman who helped us was very friendly, and the breakfast was quite good.

All you need to experience Sologne region in summer - house is located in nice, old village Salbris. There is nice swimming pool to refresh in hot summer day. Nice yard to relax and drink some vine in evening. But the biggest value are hosts - Denis and Olivier were allways taking care that our day is well planned, helping us with transportation and making us feel “at home” 😊

We received a very warm welcome at the hotel. The room, although quite small, was very clean and comfortable. The Restaurant was very pleasant and the meal excellent and good value. The Continental breakfast was also very good value.
