My family and I had a lovely stay at La Saintonge, the four of us stayed for four nights and thought that the property was superb quality, exceptionally comfortable, super clean and lovely quiet surroundings. We were met by the owner and her granddaughter who showed us the property and handed us the keys. Fabulous property! We then had great choices of beaches around Royan and up towards La Rochelle - all 30-40 min drive away through pleasant French countryside. An advantage of being located slightly in-land is that you get super quiet and calm surroundings, easy access to château’s and and small towns, as well as easy access to stunning beaches. The grounds of the property are substantial and lots to entertain the kids - swings and slides etc and a long gated driveway for the kids to practice their bike rides. We loved it and would absolutely return! Highly recommended if you want a peaceful oasis with a very high quality finish.

For a last-minute booking, I really couldn't have asked for better. In all honesty, it was probably the nicest b&b I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, the hospitality was exceptional and, as for the quality of the beautiful farmhouse - well, it was like something out of House & Garden! Lastly, the breakfast was also beautifully presented and super yummy! So, if you are looking to stay somewhere near here, just book it - you won't be disappointed.

Everything - the location, the tasteful decoration, lovely big room - with hairdryer!, fantastic breakfast with choice of sweet or savoury but most of all the welcome. Our host was extremely helpful, allowing our bikes into the garden (locked gate) and finding us ferry times. A little bit off the track for the velodyssee but so worth the detour - by far the nicest place we’ve stayed!
