The whole experience has been wonderful. The appartment was clean, light and, functional and nicely put together. I was traveling with my mum (who we found out snores -a lot!) and requested if it was possible to have an extra bed and duvet. The owners were very helpful and provided everything free of charge.

Breakfast in the garden overlooking the valley was superb and the vista stunning. Anthony and Marion gave a big warm friendly welcome. Their food and service was excellent. The gourmet dinner we had one night was one of the best we have ever had topped off with a lovely digestive! It was a great base to drive from to visit various parts and places of the Dordogne. The room was immaculate, comfortable and well set up with its own entrance.

We have been coming to this part of the Dordogne (Perigord Noir) for over 20 years and know the area quite well but we were still completely blown away by this magnificent location. The beautiful chateau is located in it’s own little valley and feels completely secluded from the rest of the world. As you look into the distance form the terrace there is literally nothing to see but nature: no buildings, no lights, no people, just a lovely pond, trees and hills. All you hear is the sound of forest animals. Added to that are the most welcoming and hospitable hosts we have ever come across. Because of our wedding anniversary they decided to upgrade us to the best room available, the breakfast was incredible and both Richard and (especially) Christine went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Check my earlier reports: I never give a 10. I wholeheartedly did this time. Highly, highly recommended.

Excellent Hosts with a lovely home renovated to include two...

Excellent Hosts with a lovely home renovated to include two (more?) entirely separate accommodations in a lovely garden setting. Wonderful spot to stay before/after viewing the Lascaux cave exhibit, while exploring the chateaux and other delights of the Lore… or as writer’s, painter’s simple dreamer’s retreat. Super friendly dog, cat, chickens. Nespresso, mineral water, wine, biscuits generously provided. Wifi was fast. Shower hot. Terrace lovely for dining al fresco. We enjoyed a walk into the quiet town and were glad to get a quick morning start on our visit to the overly quaint/touristic town of Lascaux and tour of The famous cave painting exhibit—under 20 mins by car—before a long drive in driving rains to Chartres.
