The owners are friendly and helpful, likewise their staff. I was permitted to store my road bike under secure cover in the rear garden, which was reassuring. The evening meal was delicious and good value for money, the rooms were clean, beds comfortable and the breakfast was simple, tasty, ample and great value.

This place exceeded my expections by far! We booked impulsively on the road, and I was really happy we could check in by using a door code. Late check-in is not an issue. Personal was not needed to go into the room. The room was very comfortable, very clean and overall amazing. There is air conditioning, a big shower, very comfortable beds, tv with streaming services, (paid) breakfast service, self-checkout (just close the door behind you and leave the keycard). We had a perfect rest after being on the road for almost an entire day. The location was very nice as well. It is a shame we didn't have time to check it out. I needed some help with something and the employees helped me very well. I hardly spoke French and they not much English, but we worked it out perfectly. There is also a big parking place in front of the place. There is a maximum entrance height restriction of 2 meters (I believe). It's free to park there. I would definitely come back here, if I travel back to Spain/Through France.

On arrival, the chateau looked a little run-down, however……. what a lovely stay we had. Arthur and Victorine have done some magic inside and the room we had was lovely. Tastefully decorated in a modern way that still does not look out of place given the age of the building. Quirky sloping floors and walls add to the character. So quiet and peaceful, we had a very restful night. For only €8 each, we had a lovely breakfast with breads, croissants, fresh fruit salad and yoghourt, cheese and ham and cake. Arthur and Victorine (and their lovely two young boys) could not have been more welcoming and Arthur tried very well (and successfully) in his English….. better than my French! Owen the jack-russel (non-yappy!) and the goats just added to the experience. The chatueau is very much work in progress but all that has been done is self contained. About 15/20 minutes from Oradour-sur-Glane it is a good base from which to explore the local area. We would definitely stay here again.
