Absolutely the best hosts we have come across. Very clean and good value for money. Lovely thick towels and facecloths. They cooked us a really lovely meal as most places were closed in Ruffec.

Delightful hosts! I was alone in the house the first couple of nights but got to visit with the hosts sometimes in the day. Sheila even gave me a tour of the town. Very outgoing and a real pleasure to get to know. For the accommodations, I was expecting a shared bathroom, but she made the ground floor toilet private for me and my room had a sink and shower, so all that was a very pleasant surprise.

Yvette is a joy! What a lovely helpful person she is. Nothing was too much trouble. We had hire car problems and Yvette helped us sort them out. When we were not sure if we could resolve the issues, Yvette offered to drive us to the airport! Breakfast was very good; more than enough food. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean and pleasant. When we return to the area we will definitely be staying with Yvette (If she'll have us).

We stayed 5 days and felt very comfortable in this modern, stylish and well equipped apartment. There was plenty of room and the views over the fields were lovely. The kitchen was well equipped and basics like oil, salt, vinegar, kitchen paper were supplied. We were very grateful for the washing machine. Amelie is an excellent host and she lives next door so collecting the keys was easy. Wifi worked well and we liked the smart TV La Faye is a good base to explore the area and there are supermarkets nearby in Ruffec.

On the whole people were friendly.

On the whole people were friendly. It is a pretty town I found a nice shop to buy pre-prepared meals but did not want to eat out as I was alone. The architecture was interesting and walking around quite pleasant. I'm sure it is much livelier in the Summer months.

A typical French old town which we visited in late October...

A typical French old town which we visited in late October so very quiet and as it was a Monday nothing was open for an evening meal except McDonalds. I'm sure it is very lively in summer and the area around the square is attractive so it would not be fair to judge Ruffec on our experience.
