Very handy for visiting Mont St Michel. A lot of thought has gone into the refurbishment and decoration of this gite. As a family the layout suited us, but it may not suit every group intending to stay, so look at the photos and read the reviews. But we really enjoyed our stay.

The place was so clean and the ambience was so relaxing. Amenities were all prepared. The owner Ms Madeleine were so kind and hospitable. She was very conversational and helped us whatever information we wanted to have. She prepared a very delicious french breakfast (super delicious french toast!). We were not in the centre of Pontorson but in the...

We were not in the centre of Pontorson but in the countryside about a mile or so towards Mont St Michel. Pontorson had a few places to eat out and we tried a couple and enjoyed them but we found that most opened in the evening for a short time and closed quite early (it was Mid September) which wasn't good if we'd been out for the day and arrived back later. There was a McDonalds as a last resort which we used rather than go without food but we soon learned to find somewhere to eat on the way if we were going to be back late. We can recommend a chain called Del Arte for a nice Italian in Avranches and other places and there is an Indian restaurant (Moonlight) in Dol-de Bretagne where we had a nice meal for a reasonable price. We found most places in Pontorson quite expensive but the food was good. The town was clean and pleasant enough with ample free parking.

In general, the area has many activities.

In general, the area has many activities. I think you want a day for Mont Saint Michel. You can go hiking, horseback riding, helicopter rides, it's like a zoo. It has many things, I think it took 2-3 days to explore the area.

like everybody else you probably stays in Pontorson We came to see the Abbey. And it was close to a train station and only 9 km from Ponte soon to the Abbey. So there’s not a whole lot to see in Pontorson . But the bed-and-breakfast we were in was magnificent

Pontorson is really a cute little town with lots of cafes...

Pontorson is really a cute little town with lots of cafes and restaurants. It is a very convenient place to stay to visit Le Mont St. Michel if not coming with your own car, although the local buses have quite limited schedules for getting there and back. Still, it's quite sufficient for a typical visit to Le Mont.

Pontorson was as a base for our visit Mont St Michel . We took a scheduled bus near the train station to Mont St Michel. Our stay at Pontorson was 3 days 2 nights We train from Paris to Rennes with connecting train from Rennes to Pontorson . When we arrived at Rennes found out our connecting train to Pontorson was cancelled due to the rail strikes. Thanks to SNCF they issued us fresh tickets for a soon to be departing train to Del de Bretagne. SNCF at Del de Bretagne arranged a taxi to take us our B&B, VILLA Mons. Thank you SNCF.

Good location, could cycle to Mont Saint Michel. We were surprised that the accommodations is a 16th century, with lots of original fittings, amazing place! Very clean. The landlady Sibylle is very sweet and helpful. Best wishes to her and her lovely young family!

Very convenient small kitchen Nice shower Clean Good location for Pontorson with free parking outside the blue zone. We loved the market on Wednesday morning and the Mont Kebab in the same street. These places had the best food we tasted within France. Room was relatively cool with a fan and two different curtains.

Quiet chambre d'hote with a large, beautiful garden (roses in full bloom when we were there in late May). The host was very attentive and kind (we arrived after a long visit to Mont Saint Michel, just a few minutes away, and were quite tired). Our room had a large, modern bathroom with walk-in shower.

We had a warm welcome from Madeleine at her B&B, located on the main street of Pontorson. We enjoyed the friendly conversation over a nice french breakfast before visiting Mont Saint Michel a short drive away.
