We stayed at Chic Nivoy Retreat for one night on our way south and it was a perfect stopover. Located in a very small village close to Metz, there’s not much to do in the immediate area, but for a peaceful night’s rest between travels, it’s ideal. The apartment itself is truly impressive. While the building is clearly very old (with a narrow stairway and no lift), the host has done an excellent job renovating the actual apartment. High ceilings, spacious layout, two comfortable bedrooms, a huge living room..it’s been thoughtfully designed and tastefully decorated. Everything within the owner's control has been done to a high standard. Yes, you’ll hear the occasional train nearby and the entrance of the building doesn’t make the best first impression, but once you’re inside, none of that matters. We’d definitely recommend this place if you're passing through or looking for a quiet, well-furnished retreat.
