The hotel Is super nice and new, very cozy. The position is excellent and Niaux is a cute town. The owner Is superb, welcoming and disponible. Breakfast Is great, local products like salami, cheese, marmalades. I think here I had the best croissant ever.

Outstanding dinner, friendly host, comfortable dorm rooms. Located right on the GR10 hiking route, with access to great mountain-hiking routes, e.g. to Pic d'Endron...breathtaking views once you reach it. I was there in Juli, yet the area wasnt crouded with other tourists, and locals were super friendly.

Throughout the hotel and restaurant the decor and fittings are new, tasteful and of a high standard. Our bedrooms overlooked the river, with a great view of the mountains and the pretty town. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and were not disappointed.

We really like this hotel. It is in a busy small town and the hotel also is busy. It is a traditional hotel and the restaurant is used by the people of the town as well as the hotel guests. We thought the food was really good. I hope that the opportunity arises for us to stay in this hotel again.

Nice Chambre d’Hôte with original parts dated back to the 1750’s. Close to the river and city-center. Hosts are very friendly! The Breakfast is home-made, excellent and well-served by the owners. Our laundry (cycle clothing) had been washed and dried for free. Our 8 bikes were safely stored ik the garage.

We visited Montségur (quite a climb and 30 minutes by car) and Les Grottes de Niaux ( in the hill opposite the Auberge) Both experiences were great and the best thing on each occasion were the guides.

The best part of my stay in Niaux was having the opportunity...

The best part of my stay in Niaux was having the opportunity to see the paintings of the Magdalenian people. I would love to spend more time in prehistoric caves. The people and the place are very spirited. The local area is overwhelmingly beautiful and full of history. It has been for me an experience of a lifetime. When booking a room in an 'Auberge' be sure to arrive at the time you estimated so as to not keep the host waiting on location. If you are going to be delayed, give the host a courtesy call. It is a good size 'Auberge' with a renowned restaurant but I would advise that you also call the 'Auberge' before booking online to confirm the availability of a room. This location has seen many interesting people over the years and if you are lucky you might get to hear a great story or two from the host over breakfast.
