Lovely for a day's exploring.

Lovely for a day's exploring. Saw key sites in old town in a few hours but could have enjoyed a full day. Really interesting and nice pace and atmoshphere. Lovely coffee stops etc. Train easy to other nearby places. Train journey south spectacular. Note Les Halles market shut on Mondays Oct Nov - notice on door but not clear on any website.

Lots of interesting bars and restaurants situated on either side of the canal. The cathedral is well worth visiting. There is also Les Halles covered market. A large open market takes place on Sunday around the canal. If you are a fan of Charles Trenet then a visit to his house/Museum is an absolutely must ~ fascinating. It’s within easy walking distance just over the railway line.

Being a small city, with all the sights in the centre, you can see a lot in a short time. We were lucky to be there on the first Sunday of the month when entry to the Archbishops Palace is free. We also enjoyed the Sunday market, with lots of good quality things on sale, and lunch in Les Halles is a must.

We were touring around by train so did not stay long. Narbonne is a small but interesting city. A good base to visit other places. We went to Carcassonne and planned to go to the coast but there was a strike so as we didn’t have a car we explored Narbonne instead.

Well laid out city, lots of shops and restaurants and a lovely central area which is pedestrianised, great to walk around both during the day and evening. Free local bus which tours the central area. Lots of historical sights to see. We also went on the galleon bateau which took about an hour and we went through 2 locks which was very interesting, this was after being refused one of the little electric self drive boats as we hadn't booked in advance. The little tourist train is a waste of money, so walk instead, everything is close by. Would thoroughly recommend the Cathedral, absolutely huge and for a vegan/veggie meal try Chez Marius. Staff there absolutely lovely but it gets busy so might be best to book. Avoid heading to the outskirts of the city as its not so nice, quite scruffy in places. For long term parking try Indigo just opposite Les Halles as other parking places had a 5 hour limit. The market at Les Halles is a must see, gorgeous food and great characters selling absolutely everything you could need and surprisingly not expensive. Thursday and Sunday there is also an outdoor market along the canal, huge and very popular!

The global style is out of the ordinary, super charming, and with a strong character in the south of France. The surroundings are so beautiful, you are always around wine grapes, I strongly recommend long walks, where you will find hidden gems to take breaks or enjoy the view. The spa is very cozy. The food was delicious at every meal, and the wine tasting is a must-do, as the sommeliers are very knowledgeable and inspiring. Each member of the staff has always a smile and is there to help you.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic location, just a few minutes walk from the centre of Narbonne. Staff were really helpful throughout our stay. The hotel has limited on-site parking (€12 per night), so it’s worth booking in advance, but there are other parking options nearby if needed. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and had air conditioning. Overall, a really lovely stay — would definitely recommend!

Location convenient to station. Very quiet on a Sunday night. Staff kind and carried suitcase up to first floor. Breakfast 10 euros which was quite good given choice available. Bed comfortable and shower good. Ring to enter and key fob system felt secure - no-one can just walk in. Was a one night stop over so inly had a few hours in the morning to explore Narbonne but loved it. Baggage store for a few hours was no problem.

We usually choose Ibis hotels for overnight stays during travel, and this one met our expectations in terms of basics. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was simple but of good quality. The receptionist was very polite and checked us in late at night without any issues. Although there was construction nearby, they only started working as we were checking out, so it didn’t disturb our rest.
