Quiet all night. Welcoming staff. Excellent service and evening menu. Although we both speak french it might interest non-french speakers the staff speak good English. A very traditional slightly quirky place- we loved our stay- we have repeat booked for August.

Thierry was an exceptional host with great communication, very friendly and exceptionally helpful. The property is absolutely fantastic and spotlessly clean with all the facilities we required (we knew there was no WiFi before arrival). The whole set up with the communal area for socialising, eating and drinking is a great idea. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

I loved that there were lot’s of things to do on the property. You could play ping pong, archery, take a dip in the pool and play petanque. The room was really cosy and was clean, and you could watch netflix on the tv. The owner was also very kind and welcoming. I would definitely come back!

The property was on the outskirts of Merville.

The property was on the outskirts of Merville. The town itself is a nice provincial French town, with a large church and waterways. There are a number of different supermarkets (Lidl, Super U, Carrefour express, etc), plus a number of places to eat. It was centrally located for anyone doing research on or visiting WW1 and WW2 places / battle-sites. It's also close enough to slip over the border to Belgium (which I did).

A fairly quiet town - generally well-kept but I didn't get...

A fairly quiet town - generally well-kept but I didn't get much sense of a local buzz. Perhaps significantly, my kind hostess's suggestions about suitable restaurants were all in neighbouring (though convenient) towns, not in Merville! Goat cheese can be bought just round the corner from the accommodation, however... Merville is a bit easier to reach from Dunkirk than from Calais, but it's between 2 autoroutes and you would get there in 60-90 minutes from either port. It's a town where the supermarkets haven't killed all the local independent shops; my hostess says there are 5 bakers, and she would certainly recommend a good one if you were planning a picnic lunch!

My second stay here and it was better than i remembered , the Host was friendly and although i don't speak French, communication was no problem, the breakfast is simple but filling .This place is quiet and relaxing with Merville within walking distance for restaurants etc , indoor parking was also provided for my Motorcycle .
