I have been watching the utube channel and so we arrived very late so I spent most of the time running around taking photos it was as I had expected and more and Karen was attentive and the Peonie on the dinning room table was a lovely touch. The breakfast was great and the coffee machine was a god send after a day of driving thankyou

I honestly cannot fault this property. I had the most magical time there. The breakfast was delicious, every little detail was thought through, and the location was so peaceful. Places like this are so rare, and it restores my faith to stay somewhere like this. I can't wait to come back!!

Martel was the perfect spot to visit the Dordogne Valley. It combines beauty with services such as supermarket, local markets, the best bakery in the lot!, night entertainment… it small, picturesque, charming but still practical and vibrant on some evenings or market days.

A great village to discover and it always seemed active with...

A great village to discover and it always seemed active with shoppers and diners. We only stayed two nights but it would make a perfect location for a week or more to explore the area. Parking was easy, the main square was lively and there were several good restaurants. There is a lot to see and do in the area.

I liked the Chateau de la Tuilerie in Martel's Gluges the most, a wonderful peace in the castle park and castle, with such a pleasant holiday room for four nights at Queen's Escape under the care of Karen and Bo Christensen. I recommend it!

A very pleasant village, well located for exploring the region (Rocamadour, Sarlat, Padirac...). I came for a long weekend for a wedding, but I could easily have extended my stay without getting bored. The only downside is the lack of parking in the town center outside of a blue zone limited to two hours.

One of the most beautiful villages in France, which certainly doesn't disappoint in this magnificent region. Don't miss it, along with Rocamadour, Loubressac, and nearby Carennac. This is our second time visiting these places; it's peaceful and refreshing.

Martel is a very beautiful medieval town.

Martel is a very beautiful medieval town. It has a pedestrianized town center with a large market hall and restaurants. There is parking available for cars. It is also a perfect geographical location for visiting the region, including Rocamadour, Castellenaud, Bretenoux, Rocamonte, Collonges-la-Rouge, and many others.

The hotel was beautifully located in a small hamlet right under the cliffs, not too far from the famous Rocamadour. It had a delightful garden and a very pretty outlook, full of sunlight and singing birds. The decor inside is fairly basic, but clean and comfortable with beautiful views. The food was good and the breakfast was plentiful. The staff were particularly kind and helpful.

We loved our stay at La Devine in Martel. It was quiet and central in the village. The location was central to the areas we wanted to visit in the Lot. Our hostess was helpful and made suggestions about places to visit, markets and restaurants. Sylvia was most encouraging as I made attempts to communicate in French language.
