We chose this accomodation from the photos and were so happy with the choice. Our small room was very comfortable and the bathroom/shower perfect for us. Located across from the lake we enjoyed exploring the short walking trails nearby and lake views. Pre dinner drinks on the patio, followed by an excellent dinner in the restaurant was a treat. The owner spoke excellent English was very helpful with all our questions and requests. Breakfast (an extra) was equally as good. This is such a lovely country retreat with a real French feel at an affordable price.

This is a hidden gem - in the countryside, close to the motorway. Very safe with private parking in a remote place. We love it. Dog friendly, cosy but simpel rooms. BUT…the restaurant is excellent! You feel really at home here!

This is a nice villa with one room for guests which has separate entrance. The room was recently renovated and has all possible equipment. Table, cattle, microwave, glasses, forks and knives, great selection of tea, bottle opener and wine glasses :) The bathroom is very modern and beautiful. The bad is comfortable. The owners are very friendly and nice couple. We will definitely stay there again.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Gite du Grand Chene recently. Mel and Val were fabulous hosts, they were so welcoming and friendly and they went out of their way to make us feel at home. They were also very helpful giving us lots of information about places of interest to visit, the best local restaurants and local shops. Mel and Val even shared with us some delicious homemade pizza that they had made themselves in their outdoor pizza oven. The gite itself was newly renovated with everything we needed! Inside was immaculately clean, cosy and charming, retaining some of the original features of the building. The bed was really comfortable and the little electric fire and air conditioning kept us lovely and toasty and warm, We were overjoyed when we saw that Mel and Val had left us a little grocery bundle inside consisting of bread, cheese, ham, eggs and coffee, it was such a lovely surprise! We had gorgeous views from our windows across the garden and surrounding fields, we enjoyed watching the cows from our terrace with a cup of coffee in the morning. The highlight of our visit was using the hot tub which was absolutely amazing!!! It was huge inside and lovely and hot with pretty colour changing lights. My partner and I sat inside with a glass of prosecco star gazing looking at the moon and listening to the owls at night. We did have to pay a small additional charge to use the hot tub as it is costly to fill with fresh water and logs which fuel it but it was well worth it. Mel explained that it is free for guests to use if they stay for a week, Another highlight was playing badminton in the garden, we have never had so much fun in our lives!! The gite is situated in such a beautiful tranquil spot and we had such a relaxing, romantic stay. We felt sad to leave as we continued our travels further south but we left feeling so invigorated with our batteries fully charged. The gite is such a lovely little gem! We can't wait to come back!!

Apart from the wonderfully huge sign saying my name for all to see, it was magnificent to have a hotel just for me ...... In all seriousness, I hadn't stayed here before, or in fact in the area at all. So, it was a very pleasant surprise to find this little gem of a hotel. Easy access to the hotel, right off a main road, but not at all busy and noisy. The staff were so helpful and full of smiles and helped out when my French was somewhat lacking in areas. The rooms were very comfortable and well 'stocked' - as in good sized towels (but always could be a little bigger). I liked that there was a vending machine in the hotel, good range of drinks and snacks. Check in and out times were good, and check in and out process was quick and efficient. We did not use the hotel restaurant as we were busy for one of the nights, and the second night was a Sunday, so they weren't open - but the menu looked great and the actual restaurant was great inside (you walked through it to the breakfast room). The breakfast buffet was good, a decent range of food and drink, good size cups and glasses (not the tiny ones where it is like chugging down a shot of orange juice). We didn't use the swimming pool, but it was outside of the window of the breakfast room. It looked a good size and was clean with clear water.
