Lovely French countryside house. It was spotless, and the bed was very comfortable as well. There's complimentary tea or cocoa if you want and even some board games if you get bored. I particularly need to mention the breakfast because it was the best breakfast we had during our week in Normandy. Fresh bread and croissants, boiled eggs, jam and fruit,... We loved our overnight stay, and if you're passing through, definitely stop here for the night.

We stayed 5 nights and we wished we stayed longer in this cosy and beautiful guest house. The location is perfect to explore Mont Saint Michel and Saint-Malo. We loved the hospitality of Celeste and Patrick who made sure we didn’t miss anything and we felt like at home. The abundant breakfast and dinner personally prepared by Celeste could satisfy every taste (with particular attention to the kids). It was nice to cool off in the pool after a long day of discovering the region and to chat at dinner with the hosts and the other guests. We absolutely recommend la Gerbaudiere Chambres d’hôtes to everyone who is looking for hospitality, comfort and conviviality.

The hosts, Wendy and Stephen, were wonderful and made us feel very much at home. Also, the garden is incredible, the room cozy and the breakfast really enjoyable. We only stayed two nights but it felt like a whole holiday, and would love to come back again. Highly recommended.

It was an unexpected and wonderful 2-day stay in Normandy. The position is convenient for exploring the D-day beaches and Mont St Michel and Saint-Malo on day trips. Debbie and her husband Steve are wonderful hosts: they remodeled an old vicary house in the center of a small village and turned it into a lovely, very cozy, and welcoming home. They thought of the most minute details, adding personal touches everywhere. The rooms on the first floor are spacious and comfortable. The common room for breakfast is exquisite with decor and light. Breakfast is delicious with ample choices. The garden is well taken care of. It was a great find.

The lovely garden, the swing hanging from the tree overlooking neighbouring fields, the gazebo with its comfy chairs, the private area also just for us… the massive bed which was also so comfy!! The owners were so charming and friendly. Enjoyed very much our last night and our extended apéritif….;))

We arrived in driving rain from the Caen ferry and were delighted to be welcomed by our host Angela (also known as Sue) who made sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay including warm rooms and a generous welcome basket of goodies to settle us in. She is the perfect host - there if you need anything, but not intrusive. Nothing is too much trouble. The gite is as it appears in the photos with a downstairs well equipped kitchen and upstairs a cosy bedroom, sitting room and shower room. Everything was spotlessly clean, the bed was extremely comfortable with excellent quality linens and there was a plentiful supply of hot water for the shower. The WiFi signal is excellent. The provision of upstairs and downstairs kettles and mugs was greatly appreciated, for that all important early morning cup of tea! The outside seating area was a great place to enjoy breakfast when the sun came out for us. We stayed for 10 days and found it a great place to relax and really unwind. There are excellent walks locally and some lovely towns and villages in under an hour's drive. The famous attractions (Mont St Michel, D-day landing beaches etc) are within about a 90 min drive. The local is very rural and the only noises at night are natural ones. We really couldn't have asked for anything more. We would love to come back. The gite is about 5 min by car from the nearest village for the basics and about 15 min from St Hilaire for the full range of supermarkets, shops, some excellent restaurants (try L'Ardoise opposite the church), a Wednesday market and a tourist office.
