I cannot recommend this place more highly! We booked it to break up our journey from the Alpes to Le shuttle but we should have stayed longer. It was tremendous. Just outside the city of Les Langres. 5mins drive or 16min walk. The situation was perfect. The room beautiful, beds very comfortable and clean. Emanuelle looked after us so well. Inviting us to use the facilities and giving us information on where to park and what to do in the city. She even gave us ice in our water for our onward journey. Next time we plan to stay longer and visit the beautiful lakes.

Exceptional apartment - clean, very spacious, tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped (even a mechanical orange juicer with oranges provided so that you can have fresh orange juice for breakfast!). Easy, free nearby parking. On the ramparts, 5 minutes on foot to the town centre or Diderot museum. A few notes that may be helpful: - If entering at night, have a torch or your mobile handy as the nearest light switch to the door is quite a way in. - Note the wifi code before you go in as our GSM signal was weak inside and so you need the wifi (thick walls!) - The smaller room with a single bed gives off one of the doubles and there is no door or closing. - There is another gite above (with its own entrance) so don’t be surprised if you hear movement upstairs - Remember some change for the tourist tax

Lovely walled town.

Lovely walled town. There are plenty of little shops, bakeries, a supermarket, bars and restaurants. It’s great to walk around the ramparts which enclose the city. Everyone was very friendly. There is a great little market on Saturday selling local produce. Langres cheese is delicious.

The town is stunning.

The town is stunning. Large yet every part of the old town is stunning and charming. I’m so glad I found this little gem. So many French towns are wonderful but quite “samey”. Langres really stands out from the crowd. Go have a look.

Lovely small traditional French town with battlements and...

Lovely small traditional French town with battlements and lovely small streets etc. Not much English spoken anywhere we went so bear that in mind. We had a drink in Le Foy, very friendly, bought out a dog bowl. In the evening we ate in le Bistro de L’atelier which served lovely food and was in a small village square.

Langres has history, some of which has been sorely neglected...

Langres has history, some of which has been sorely neglected. It is the birthplace of Diderot. Langres is on the case. I think it has huge potential. I hope it is can build on it's past as a significant place of learning and Dierot's legacy, without comprising it's local character and facility. Bon Chance!

We only stayed in Langres as a stop over en route to the...

We only stayed in Langres as a stop over en route to the south of France, but found that it is a wonderful city with a long history, encircled by old city walls, and with many interesting landmarks. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the city walls and though the old streets.

Arrived with only a little time before it became un staffed...

Arrived with only a little time before it became un staffed hotel for the night. Rushed in our booking & also booked breakfast. Then realised it was to late for us to eat as we had to leave early in the am to catch Le Shuttle. Cancelled it but couldn't have tge £ directly refunded on our card & had to fill in some paperwork. Over 6 weeks ago & we still haven't received this refund. Please can booking.com chase this up & sort. Thank you.

Great comfortable apartment in the middle of Langres. Well-equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds in two bedrooms. Our only issue was the parking - we were lucky to find a spot in the Parking du Musee which was the recommended alternative, it wasn't at all clear where it would be possible to find free onstreet parking nearby, so perhaps that part of the information provided needs to be updated. We did like the apartment, and did find it comfortable with everything we needed.

Very nice stayover on our way to the south of France with 3 mo baby and dog. Everything clean, beds made, even a breakfast provided, which included fresh oranges (and a juicer!), coffee machine with beans. A short walking distance to the centre where we had a drink in the sun and enjoyed the local wine shop with tasting.

Simple Hotel, just fine for one night. There some restaurants nearby. The McDonalds also had a fast charger available for my electric car, so, that is handy. Good sound proofing.

The riom was clean and comfortable and the hotel was nicely located in the centre of Langres. The breakfast was outstandingly goiod, truly the best.
