Beautiful spacious building in an adorable village. Kitchen got everything you need and the hosts are incredibly nice and forthcoming! I absolutely recommend staying here if you get the chance.

This well equipped studio is tucked right under the owner’s balcony. Marike and Hans gave us a warm welcome and good directions for what was available locally. We loved the fact that the area wasn’t touristy. If you are willing to drive a bit, then there are mountains to climb and spectacular castles to see. We loved the hammock.

Let's begin with the beautiful chateau, delightfully renovated by owners Kathy and Eric set in the quiet village of Palaja approximately five kilometres from Carcassonne. The place is spotless, everything works and the owners are always available with helpful considered advice. Many hotels and Airbnb establishments could do well to try and adopt a similar approach to their customers, cleanliness and maintenance... Chapeau Kathy etc Eric! Our stay was simply wonderful, we really enjoyed in the beautiful garden fantastically perfumed by an abundance of flowers and herbs (see pictures), or relaxing by the pool after our daily excursion sipping a variety of local wines and beers. The breakfast was first class, with local jams, cheeses, charcuterie, eggs etc..and of course delicious buttery croissants and a variety of french breads from local bakeries. The restaurant next door 'S Comme' is well worth a visit, we dined there on our first night which and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Our room was well decorated, spacious, clean, everything worked from the heated radiator to the air conditioning, great shower... I really cannot say that about many places. Very importantly the bed was very comfortable!!! We really benefitted from the change of rhythm, which was a total contrast from the chaos and stress of London; by the third day we were so relaxed that we found ourselves dozing at every opportunity!! A great holiday always leaves you wanting more ......we will be back!!!

The staff were amazing- friendly, attentive and spoke several languages fluently. They went above and beyond to accommodate our food intolerances and made sure we had a delicious meal every time. The room was clean, modern and very comfortable. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

We were warmly welcomed by Christelle and Laurent who are the sweetest people. Such a lovely couple. The room was spacious and meticulously clean! Nicely decorated with airco and a good quality bed. The breakfast…unmatched in the whole of France! Car is completely secure next to the house. We will definitely come back.

If you bother to read all the reviews you will quickly get a...

If you bother to read all the reviews you will quickly get a feeling that not all is right with this place. Sure it's quiet and, yes there are nice walks close by, but the rooms are spartan and minimally furnished. The walls are thin and the place doesn't have a caring feel about it. Breakfasts are apparently good. Do you need to put up with all the negatives? We didn't and forfeited our booking
