Tastefully decorated and very spacious room which had everything we wanted . . The bed was very large and extremely comfortable . Chez Jack is in an excellent location within Confolens. Breakfasts were excellent , really good choice and everything fresh . The hosts were lovely, couldn’t do enough for us . Would definitely return to Chez Jack .

Private secure parking within the property gates. Enclosed garden. Large house, beautifully furnished. Looks even better than the photos. Such a spacious house with everything you could need for a short or long stay. The entire house was super clean, a real credit to the owner. A 2 minute walk into town with bars and restaurants. We look forward to staying again.

Elise and Richard were perfect, warm and welcoming hosts. Their place is gorgeous and immaculately presented. The room was perfect - spacious and comfy 4 poster bed with a great bathroom and shower. Breakfast was also delicious. Can't speak highly enough of our stay at No 41.

Lovely location. Excellent facilities, the host really goes above and beyond to provide exceptional accomodation. Fabulous little touches throughout the apartment making you feel at home. Great to have good information about local amenities. Lovely quite spot within walking distance of the town.

Lovely little town we arrived just before the annual music...

Lovely little town we arrived just before the annual music festival to view a property for sale. Based on what we experienced including Confolens, it’s indoor market building, the outdoor amphitheater, the riverside bars and eateries, the well kept commune areas and helpful welcoming French and English people we are buying.

Confolens is a pretty but small town.

Confolens is a pretty but small town. It is not great for restaurant choice out of season but we would stay in the area again as we found a nice place to eat and it was easy to walk into town from where we stayed. In summer it would be a good base to explore the area.

We only stayed two nights, passing through.

We only stayed two nights, passing through. Small town with few bars, cafes and restaurants, but quite sleepy with a lot of properties, sadly, boarded up. Still had charm about it. There is a castle / château at Confolens St Germain a short drive away, or a 1-hr walk each way. Great for a short stay.

I really don’t want to review this gem of a place for purely...

I really don’t want to review this gem of a place for purely selfish reasons. Great hosts and a lovely building very convenient for the village. We stayed as part of a tour on motorcycles with a group of friends, there’s even a garage for the bikes. Had we known in advance we we would have stayed for a few days, however we will be back at some point. Try the honey while you’re there as well, it’s lovely. Highly recommended.

A very typical town in the Charente Limousine region,...

A very typical town in the Charente Limousine region, nestled between the Vienne, Issoire, and Goire rivers. Plenty of water, therefore, and lovely green and wooded landscapes in the surrounding area. Charming villages as well. The locals are warm, helpful, and very welcoming. However, the selection of restaurants is rather limited, especially outside of peak season or on Sundays.

We received a very warm welcome from Davina, the room was spacious, and we slept very well without hearing any traffic noise. We traveled with our dog, who was also very well received; he even got a little treat at breakfast 😊

Firstly the place is such an excellent location you can walk into Confolens in 2 mins. Lovely location and superb facility. The owners go over the top to help and advise and make you feel at home. So much so I bought a house locally! What a fabulous experience thank you so much. Your place ia stunning the quality of the decor and furnishings were outstanding. Such lovely taste! I ended up staying an extra night.

What a fantastic few days we had in Confolence. Hotel was so beautiful . Breakfast was above our expectations.Served in very beautiful dining room , stylish and elegant hotel. Bedroom with big comfy bed and fantastic views of the river. We recommend it very much . The host was extremely friendly and helpful above all expectations.
