This was an overnight stay to break a long journey, so we were pleasantly surprised to find that the village was picturesque, very calm and steeped in history. We enjoyed a walk around the village to visit Charles de Gaulles memorial and tomb. There are also champagne producers in the village. The B & B was built in 1777, so was very interesting, with lots of quirky artefacts. Manuella, the host, was very kind and caring. We would definitely stay there again.

Great apartment, clean, everything you need to cook a meal in the kitchen. Small terrace outside, view to fields. In the centre of the pretty, small village of Colombey, several restaurants within 5-10 min walk. Private parking. Friendly host. Pleasant walks from house. Village is a homage to Charles De Gaulle who lived here and is buried in the cemetery. There is even a Mirage plane ( very elegant fighter jet) displayed in the field by the apartment. Food at Logis Hotel La Grange du Relais, 10 min walk, is good.

We had very nice stay and room was large and comfortable. Breakfast, dinner was very good and thank you for adopted to children as well. We will surely come back in other occasion.

We made the detour off the motorway coming north from our...

We made the detour off the motorway coming north from our stay in Provence. We went through Chaumont to Colombey les deux eglises,, stayed overnight, and then onwards the next day through rolling countrside to Troyes and back on the motorway. The memorial to Charles De Gaulle is in the village as he retired and died here. Well worth a visit.

We had a lovely stay.

We had a lovely stay. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was huge and very comfortable. There is a superb restaurant opposite which is very reasonably priced and serves fabulous food.

It is best known as the home and resting place of former...

It is best known as the home and resting place of former President of France, General Charles de Gaulle. The museum and La Boisserie are most interesting and well worth visiting. The surrounding rolling countryside is beautiful. The 2 restaurants for evening meals in the village are excellent. Maison et Tartine which is open for breakfast and lunches is also excellent. The Champagne establishment owned and run by Christian Peligri is also interesting and has excellent products at reasonable prices.

Really friendly hotel.

Really friendly hotel. Good food and for us with a dog a big bedroom. Swimming pool was heated and clean and staff were more than friendly. A good place to visit a historic site or just relax. The village is clean and welcoming too.

A charming quiet village, not too far from the motorway,...

A charming quiet village, not too far from the motorway, with of course, the De Gaulle memorial overlooking the village. The village is in the champagne area and produces a lot of excellent champagne.

An iconic and unmissable landmark in France.

An iconic and unmissable landmark in France. A visit to La Boisserie is essential. The General's presence still lingers there... The Memorial allows us to grasp the grandeur of this Head of State who did so much for our country.

The rooms are spread out around the village but the hotel is centred on a very pleasant bar/restaurant in the square, which is also a shop. (We bought a lamp!). We had a delightful room, comfortable and tastefully decorated. On the hotel's recommendation we had an excellent dinner at the nearby Inter'Val restaurant (open Fridays and Saturdays). It was a stopover for us, but Colombey-les-Deux-Églises is a pretty village and it was well worth visiting the Charles de Gaulle museum and memorial.

Hotel set in wonderful grounds and a great location. We were en route to the Alpes and the hotel and village were a nice deviation from the motorway. We didn’t eat in the restaurant as the only offer (Saturday evening) was 2 tasting menus, but the food looked delicious and would definitely try on another visit. There are other restaurant options in the village. We were travelling with 2 dogs and they loved the large garden and orchard.

Room mostly good, dinner and breakfast good value for money. The dining areas are very pleasant both indoors and outdoors. The hotel is perfectly sited for an overnight stop on the way to Calais.
