A beautifully-restored 14th hotel in the heart of Chinon. We really enjoyed the charming decor throughout the hotel. In particular, the breakfast room was very attractive and the breakfast has a fine selection of breads and home-made jams. twe were only passing through the area, but would have loved to stay an extra day just to enjoy the lovely rooms!

Fantastic position. Great value for money. Superbly helpful. This place is a 9.5 on ratings not a 7. It should not be pulled down by wifi connection. Honestly. Value for money great. First off - reception staff so helpful and friendly. It is minutes to everything. Room was perfect. Comfortable +++ bed. Newly renovated bathroom. Fabulous shower. Bikes available to ride. Beautiful rooms with terrace area attached to the main house but you felt very separate. The bonus here is the pizza restaurant run by the couple at the entrance to the house. The pizzas are made in a wood fired oven and are fabulous. The restaurant is run by the couple who are very helpful, friendly, and efficient. We really appreciated the great food and service after having completed a busy season in catering ourselves. Breakfast was also very good and plentiful. Lovely walks for our dog on the doorstep also a bonus. Thank you for a lovely relaxing stay.

Beautiful medieval town with quaint streets and a lovely farmers market while we were there. The chateau is worth a visit and you get beautiful views from the ramparts and across to the country side and river. Easy to walk everywhere as we were close to town. There is kayaking available on the river which looked fun.

Chinon is a beautiful destination complete with Fortress, the Vienne river and coble stone Medieval streets. Picture perfect. However, I felt it lacked a heartbeat - there just wasn’t a vibe in the central square and the remainder of the town was closed.

Beautiful town, well kept, great restaurants and friendly people. In particular we recommend the "Ardoise" restaurant in rue Rabelais, where you can taste special dishes and excellent wines in a refined atmosphere.

Chinon is a beautiful old mediaeval town by a large river.

Chinon is a beautiful old mediaeval town by a large river. Extremely attractive with narrow streets and pretty squares. Lots of bars and restaurants. We could have spent a day exploring, I think, but chose it simply as a conveniently place to rest for the night. They make very good wine, too!

Lovely clean, modern facility (more of a bed & breakfast than what I would call a hotel). The host was really helpful & attentive. We had the last available room as it was a last minute booking & our host apologised for the size of the room, but it was absolutely fine for our needs. The hotel is within walking distance of a variety of great restaurants & Chinon is a lovely historic, picturesque town. Would recommend staying here, it was excellent value & the breakfast was superb!

A charming historic hotel located on the main square of Chinon's historic centre. While the hotel building is old, rooms and breakfast room have been tastefully modernised, but overall, the hotel retains some wonderful period charm. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent - a huge range of high quality options were available every day. The square immediately outside the hotel features a 6 bars and restaurants were excellent food and drinks were available. Fantastic
