The jacuzzi on the terrace was a real plus to have in the cold winter after all that walking in town. It's long enough for a couple to stretch their legs completely. We received clementines and cannelé in our room upon arrival too. At first we thought that breakfast was a bit expensive, but it turns out that it really was very copious (we didn't realise you could choose not to check several boxes, so we checked them all...). So just be careful of this if you order in-room breakfast and don't want to waste food! The bread basket is massive!

Didnt have breakfast on any occassion, just not a breakfast person. I find location excellent ,we come and go thru carcassonne regularly. My daughter a nd family first experienced your hotel when they had an emergency in France, she passed it to me, I've passed it to my sister etc . We always enjoy it, we "get what it says on the tin", and it's super value.

- Good location (there are 2 supermarkets and McDonald’s very close to hotel); - Free private parking; - SUPER kind staff; - Clean and well-furnished; - SILENCE AND CALMNESS; - Swimming pool (we didn’t use it but anyway); - The most important part for us: 24/7 checkin. Most visitors to Carcassonne come here for one thing: to see its fairytale, UNESCO World Heritage-listed castle sitting majestically on a hill east of the city.

Spectacularly lit at night, this Cité is a restored medieval fortress with 52 towers, 2 outer walls covering almost 2 miles, and a drawbridge providing access to a keep. Twice daily there are medieval jousting displays between the walls. This intriguing castle has enchanted so many that it has appeared in novels, films and even spawned a board game.

Some Carcassonne hotels, bars and restaurants can be found in the Cité but the majority are in the Ville Basse below. The stone Old Bridge, also lit at night, links it to the city centre over the Aude River.

Central Carcassonne also has its own sights including the fine art museum and the cathedral with its impressive stained-glass windows. But its best feature is the South of France way of life, with relaxed bars and pavement cafes, some serving the local speciality – cassoulet. Other slow-paced attractions include boat trips along the Canal du Midi and visiting villages like Minerve in the surrounding hills.

Carcassone is a great city to visit.

Carcassone is a great city to visit. The main city is compact and friendly with lots of restaurants and some great shops. The Medieval City is incredible, I cannot recommend it highly enough! Absolutely amazing Chateau, Ramparts and a city within the walls, wonderful!

Main take from my visit was how friendly and helpful everyone is in Carcassonne. Didnt have any bad experiences in shops, restaurants or bars. Such a laid-back city. A very walkable city with the beautiful Medieval City towering above and visibly from almost everywhere. Great walking paths along the River Aude and on the Canal du Midi.

Exactly as expected, easy to walk around, beautifully restored, plenty of cafes and restaurants, people very friendly. Can recommend a guided walking tour with Natalie and definitely worth buying ticket for castle and ramparts walk.

Carcassone is a fantastic place even if crowded with tourists. Go early for breakfast at bakery by cathedral. Play ‘how many towers can I get in one shot’ - we did 16. The Roman walls and towers are the ones with horizontal lines of red tiles in the masonry. Wall walk is worth it.

Citadel was outstanding.

Citadel was outstanding. Rest of Carcassonne pleasant with tree-lined squares and good restaurant facilities. Canal du Midi runs through Carcassonne and is excellent for pretty walks and boat trips. Nearby is Narbonne (short trip by train), well worth a visit for for its historical sites and cafes/restaurants. Also pretty.

Very spacious air conditioned apartment with excellent view to the castle and river. The apartment is situated on the third floor and the house is favorably located in walking distance from the castle, restaurant area and the old town center. The apartment has very big rooms and windows to three different directions. Two bathrooms, comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Parking places are available either on the street or in the riverbank. Definitely among the best value for money apartments.

Beautiful hotel, huge breakfast and stunning restaurant to eat it in, room massive with extra dressing room and balcony overlooking castle and city. Staff lovely, especially the Filipina lady working in the spa. The hotel left a bottle of sparkling wine in the room as we were celebrating our honeymoon which was very much appreciated. Location of hotel fantastic - slap bang in centre of the old town.
