We had a great time in Lapland Homestead in January 2025. The house is very comfortable and clean. Perfect for family stay. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, sauna and fireplace. The owner is very nice and heplful. Always replies to all questions.. The location is very convinient. Very quiet and close to Rovaniemi and close to Korouoma falls. Nice supermarket 300m from the house. There are many attractions nearby: husky farm, reindeer farm. We recommend stay in Lapland Homestead to everyone with pleasure!

We stayed here mainly for the Northern Lights and were happy to be able to see them as the location is quite dark and has a clear view to the North right from the bedroom window.

Perfect chalet in the middle of nowhere with a breathtaking view. I definitely recommend this property, there’s everything you need in the kitchen and lots of plugs. Just one thing you should know, you will need a SUV or a 4 wheel drive vehicle to be able to exit the property during winter as the road is steep. Thank you to Antti for coming to remove the snow from the road for us or else we would have missed our prepaid activity.

Sensational. It exceeded expectations. Even with temperatures of minus 20ºC, the cabin and the igloo were very comfortable. Extremely well equipped for cooking. The distance to the igloo was not a problem. Having a car is recommended, but it doesn't have to be 4-wheel drive. 50 min easy drive to Rovaniemi. Go to the market before because you won't want to leave.

I really liked the kitchen; it had a complete set of tableware and cookware, and even included seasonings. The facilities worked well. The house was very spacious, and both the bed and sofa were very comfortable. The landlord was very kind and provided a lot of assistance! Although the location was somewhat remote, there were forests and other places nearby to explore. The landlord even provided a small sled, which was adorable.

We have just got back from the most perfect stay at Rentola! Me, my partner and our son travelled to Lapland to explore the area and of course see Santa, but our favourite part of the whole experience was this beautiful cottage! Mauri was there on arrival to show us around (which was so kind as our flight was delayed for 2 hours and it was so late when we arrived, so we were very grateful he waited for us.) On arrival we had a welcome pack which included biscuits for my son to decorate - very thoughtful and he loved this activity. They also bought games for him to play and decorations for him to decorate the tree which was so kind. It made us feel at home straight away! We are so grateful to have experienced this beautiful, cosy cottage. It’s got everything you need; comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen, a private sauna and one of the best bits - a private hut with a fire pit! We loved sitting around the fire and having a bbq, drinking wine. It was perfect. Also everything was so clean and tidy. Oh and nice and warm! We were worried about the cold but it was so nice and warm inside the cottage. Surroundings were beautiful, it was so peaceful and waking up to the lake in the morning and watching the sunrise was a real highlight for me - absolutely stunning! The communication from both Mauri and Seija was fantastic from the moment we booked until the very end of our trip, it really made the whole experience so easy! We are already thinking about when we can next come back to Rentola as we loved it (and Lapland!) so much. Thanks Mauri and Seija for a fantastic stay!!

THE BEST DECISION we made when planning our trip to Lapland was to stay with Merja & Yari in their gorgeous Saariniemi estate. We're constantly on the move and travel monthly BUT this place is truly unique, beautifully managed with respect to traditions and environment. Our adorable Otsola cottage, standing right on the shore of the frozen lake, with its nearby private sauna and outdoor fire place, was the source of great happiness and excitement to us. It had everything we could possibly need and made us feel at home from the moment we saw it. Merja & Yari are the kind of hosts that you want to meet on every day of your trip – they're caring and respectful, friendly and fun, so hard-working and talented that you feel inspired and honoured to have met them.
