We liked: - the well appointed rooms, nicely decorated - great communal areas at the hotel lounge / bar - fantastic breakfast - the hotel doesn't look much from the outside but the interior decoration is beautiful - we arrived early (8am) on the night train from Helsinki but were kindly allowed to check in and were given a room straight away - Mr Mark at reception took great care of us and helped us a lot with local advice

We loved everything about this hotel. Sauna in the room, alert system for northern lights, breakfast was delicious, ski lift just outside the hotel. Highly recommended. Receptionist were also very helpful.

It was a whole different experience! The view from the igloo was amazing and having a sauna two steps away just for yourself was a bliss. Also the experience of taking a shower in the sauna was pretty interesting and unusual. The chef of the restaurant is cooking your meal in front of you and that was just one more amazing experience.

IT was an excellent hotel. Exceeded my expectations. I was flying from HELSINKI where i stayed at Radissons Blue. Post that experience it was such a warm welcoming experience with all facilities. u name it and you get it. For the first time, I saw my rooms getting cleaned on a daily basis. Excellent / awesome are few of the words i can use.

Santa park was a fantastic day out, thoroughly enjoyed by my...

Santa park was a fantastic day out, thoroughly enjoyed by my 4 year old granddaughter! Café and Bar 21 was fantastic for breakfast. Wingston (visible from the back windows of our apartment) was our favourite place to eat in the evening. I would also recommend book a Huskie and Reindeer experience, Something that I will never forget.

Very small compact city (town really) - good variety of restaurants and bars. very easy to get around, lots of touristy, winter things to do (dog sled ride was really good, Christmas village was worth a visit but everything costs, spas and ice swimming was fun, too cloudy for northern lights - don't believe the grantees - you won't always see them). Airport for flight home was a bit hectic - don't know if it's always like that, but I'd make sure you give it 2 hours.

Great place to stay and explore Lapland by bus if needed as it's a central point of access. Easy to travel to Ranua zoo, Santa's Park or Village and other places. If you have kids it's easy to just "live" as the city offers pretty much everything. The 2 museums Arktikum and Pilke are great even for adults. Plenty of food options from different areas of the world. Enough shopping options at least at the centrall mall. You can easily walk around and access nature.

Rovaniemi was nice to visit. Nice restaurants pubs etc. Shopping centres. Pricey but there you go. The Bull bar is good as it allows children and the food was good. The guys in the bar could not do enough for you.

Rovaniemi city is a modern, functionally built area...

Rovaniemi city is a modern, functionally built area surrounded by beautiful views and areas. It has a completely different feel from Summer to Winter, which I would say I prefered. Great tourist information to help you plan if you're already there, nice restaurants too. Rovaniemi Airport is about 5 miles away from the city centre. Buses and taxis are widely available. Santa Claus Village is about 4 miles away from the centre too.

I wish there were public shared bikes to go around the city. the buses aren't so convenient so I mostly walked. It's not a big city. Overall I liked it. I liked the area behind the Arktikum museum, by the lake where is also a place to site the Northern lights, if the weather allows it. You should definitely, visit a reindeer farm.

Apartment was spotless. Suited our family of 2 adults and 4 children, much better than staying in a hotel. Apartment was well equipped with everything we needed. Very warm. Location was in the middle of Rovaniemi Town centre, lovely to enjoy walks by the lake and head out for food or hot chocolates. Santa claus village & Airport is a short riide away, 7 mins or so driving. Will definitely be back. Thank you for an amazing stay

The hotel, despite its remote location from the city centre and lack of public transportation options, is located in a natural forest park adjacent to a ski resort's chairlifts. The superior rooms and those offering views are notably pleasant. The restaurant and sky balcony have a very good view over the forest and Rovaniemi city. Both the breakfast and buffet (dinner) are commendable for their quality and variety.

The hotel gives me a free room upgrade that exceeded my expectations. The room was super clean and equipped with kettle, ironing board, coffee and tea bags. Location of the hotel is at center of the Rovaniemi downtown and within 3 min walking to nearest bus station to Santa Clause village. Breakfast was delicious and have many options for vegetarian.

We had a wonderful stay at Original Sokos Vaakuna Rovaniemi. Everything was perfect — the breakfast, the room, and the location. The hotel was warm, comfortable, and spotless. They also paid special attention to our 5-year-old daughter and even left children’s juices for her, which we truly appreciated. Highly recommended!
