Excellent room condition. Although we stayed in Autumn, it was still beautiful. I wish I can come back in winter. The staff at reception was extremely kind and showed the way to our room. Our room was SO clean - which we care a lot when we travel. The large window in the upstairs makes the view even more fascinating. The breakfast buffet was also wonderful.

The location of this hotel is very good. Although it takes ten minutes to drive to Santa Claus Village, the environment is quiet and there are super beautiful scenery. My daughter really likes this wooden house and wants to stay here forever. Every afternoon from 4 to 6 o'clock, she can also enjoy a free Finnish sauna. The service is also very friendly, and the breakfast is also very delicious. Our family will stay here again next time we come

A beautiful and peaceful place with a minimal-chic design in the rooms, blending so well with the amazing nature around. It is also a very eco-conscious hotel and all the staff are so welcoming, polite, helpful and warm. And the breakfast buffet is incredible and varied - I specifically recommend the local non alcoholic sparkling wine they serve, so refreshing! Cannot find a fault in this wonderful place - would give the Arctic Treehouse Hotel a "one of a kind" rating if I had this option. We stayed 3 nights but never wanted to leave..

Rovaniemi city is a modern, functionally built area...

Rovaniemi city is a modern, functionally built area surrounded by beautiful views and areas. It has a completely different feel from Summer to Winter, which I would say I prefered. Great tourist information to help you plan if you're already there, nice restaurants too. Rovaniemi Airport is about 5 miles away from the city centre. Buses and taxis are widely available. Santa Claus Village is about 4 miles away from the centre too.

I wish there were public shared bikes to go around the city. the buses aren't so convenient so I mostly walked. It's not a big city. Overall I liked it. I liked the area behind the Arktikum museum, by the lake where is also a place to site the Northern lights, if the weather allows it. You should definitely, visit a reindeer farm.

Have you ever been on an airplane where the whole flight CHEERS upon landing? Not from a terrifying flight where everyone is happy to land but out of sheer JOY and excitement. Welcome to the North Pole. I traveled solo and adored everything about Rovaniemi, the surrounding area and it's people and I'm making plans to return again with my children. I felt safe traveling as a single woman and found the residents of the little city to be kind and helpful. I flew in and then took the night sleeper train to Helsinki to fly home. That experience was also super fun. I felt like a child boarding the Christmas Express (remember that book?)

The town was very easy to get around and had plenty of options for activities. This trip was focused on the Santa themed activities, but I want to go back and spend more time in the nature areas. We made it to a few but only for short visits. I think I could spend hours walking and enjoying the natural surroundings there.

It’s a small town, better to use Uber for transportation...

It’s a small town, better to use Uber for transportation than local taxi, rent a car would be best. Make arrangements for ready to eat foods as most food joints will close by 8 pm. Wilt app is good for serving food and groceries. For northern lights hunting, better to book for guaranteed sighting with refundable options otherwise.

It was the perfect window into traditional Finnish life. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, we were able to truly relax and appreciate the beautiful landscape that finland has to offer aswell as some interesting wildlife tracks and sign(the northern lights from our doorstep was easily the highlight !!). Merja and Jari went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and were very knowledgeable about the area and its history. We would highly recommend booking to stay at Otsola.

It is a really great place to stay near Rovaniemi. We spent 4 nights here and had a great time. The room was clean and spacious, the breakfast was great. One night we had dinner at their restaurant and the food was tasty. The best thing in this hotel that you can see the Northern Lights from here! We were really lucky and saw the lights 3 out of 4 nights and it was amazing!

Room was very clean and warm, beds were comfortable and it was quiet. There is a tea and a coffee in the room, plus the fridge. Nice breakfast, sauna, a lot of parking spaces, close to shop. This was one of the cheapest accommodation in the area. We saw the Northern lights twice on the way to the hotel

Strengths are the excellent breakfast and location (it is in the very center of Rovaniemi). The hotel is cozy and staff is friendly. We highly recommend to have dinner both in Bull Bar (burgers and ribs are really tasty) and in Monte Rosa restaurant.
