The communication with the host was excellent (with whatsapp)! The appartment was really clean and cozy, with a private finnish sauna! Wonderfull experience. Also supermarkets and busstops are really close. The ivalo river was very close by and was completely frozen! I will recommend this to friends.

We loved everything. Minna-Carita and her family are fantastic hosts; we felt completely at comfortable, just like at home. The area is very remote and idyllic, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet of nature. We even saw the Northern Lights on 4 of 5 nights. We went on some great snow and ice experiences together and enjoyed the original finnish Sauna a lot, so it's truly a ten out of ten and highly recommended.

Ivalo itself was cute. Not too touristy, much quieter than places close by and everyone so friendly with a well stocked supermarket. Not too many places to eat but it depends what you’re looking for. As a young family, it was perfect for us!

Ivalo is not big, but it is strategically positioned between Rovaniemi and Inari. Amazing location to admire the northern lights and visit Inari. Nature is incredible and it looks less touristy than Rovaniemi.

Best place to view Northern lights.

Best place to view Northern lights. Unique Husky ride , and snow mobile tours. Winter sports like skiing , cross country , snow walking. Dreamy Winter Wonderland landscape ! Everything covered in snow is a picture perfect view . Stay in a Glass Igloo cabin to view Northern lights ( weather permitted) Renting a car is highly recommended , easy to get around even on an icy road . We used Alamo . Excellent car . Book all your tours in advance to avoid disappointment . Have fun and enjoy the cold . Be prepare to bring thermal clothing . Ivalo is a perfect Winter Wonderland Destination !

Ivalo is a quiet place for nature and sport lovers. A great place to take a rest from busy life and see SNOW in time of climate change. The shops in the centre offer everything you may need and even far in the forest your mobile will still get the signal.

We enjoyed watching the northern lights in the outskirts of the city ... Dont expect the colorful northern lights as you see it in the photos and videos in the Internet , mostly it will be in white color only... Ivalo Hotel club nord and northerlightsriders.fi arrange the best tours which we hired. They showed us the lights in the better places around Ivalo and inari... Apart from norther lights, snowmobile, skiing and other sports activities are available but we did not try those things.

The cottage was spacious for one person, everything you need...

The cottage was spacious for one person, everything you need was there. The kitchen, shower rooms and toilets were close by and the plus was that the showers were separate, so not all in the same room. Friendly staff. I recommend this place to stay!

Rooms as shown in the internet, staff was friendly and breakfast was good. We stayed in an igloo and to shower we had to walk to an extra building. This was no problem but as we had so shower in the sauna we had to schedule a fixed time to do so. The time is max 45 min and the front desk mixed up our “shower times” various times.

The room was big, clean and comfortable. Very close to the Ivalo airport (10min by car). Good breakfast and the staff was very nice. We couldn’t test out the restaurant in the evening though because it was closed that week
