Inari is a little place, surrounded by amazing forests and...

Inari is a little place, surrounded by amazing forests and lakes. It is certainly a must if you want to get to know Saami culture better. It also perfectly fits for those, who like nature and long walks. Although it is small, you can find pretty many activities there - from taking a boat trip in Inari lake in the summer period, to visiting Side museum and doing northern light hunting in winter. PaPaNa pub is also a must to visit.

We went at end of March, still plenty of snow and the lake...

We went at end of March, still plenty of snow and the lake is completely frozen but temperatures around 0. Was ideal for the kids who spent days in the snow! We saw the northern lights (had to stay up till 2am for a very lucky gap in the clouds but was worth it). The Sami museum there is excellent and we did some guided tours, was fascinating to see the Sami culture and way of life past and present.

Great place to visit, i think a lot of people just go to...

Great place to visit, i think a lot of people just go to Rovaniemi to see the lights and do activities etc and it too is a great location, but Inari had a more small town vibe and better cultural information. I especially loved visiting The Sámi Museum. Go to both places :)

Great place to watch norther lights.

Great place to watch norther lights. There is a fantastic Saami museum - Siida with big indoor and outdoor exhibition. From here you can go for a hike to Otsamo hill and Pielpajarvi wooden church. In summer you can also go on a cruise around lake Inari. There are also local companies offering activities like husky sleeging or fishing.

We went on a snowmobiling trip and a dog sledding trip.

We went on a snowmobiling trip and a dog sledding trip. We liked both but really enjoyed the dog sledding more. The cabins on the lake at night, when the northern lights came out, were perfect. Yes it was cold but we could go in an out of the cabins and take pictures as the northern lights waxed and waned. Truly a fabulous adventure that cannot be replicated at a hotel.

Pretty little town, beautiful nature, very few people in the streets. Northern lights!! Not many places to eat or to go out to, but it wasn't a problem for us. There's also a big museum and a cultural center there, hotels, a souvenir shop and supermarkets, and generally many things specially for the tourists. There is apparently no public bus going between Inari and the Ivalo airport (only Inari and the Ivalo town), but it's possible to book a shuttle bus.

We had a wonderful time at Lake Inari. People are just of incredible kindness, and if you need any help they do not hesitate to give their hands. The experience of sleeping on the lake is totally undescribable! I would strongly suggest to spend your time here and take part to Atte's running activities. Thank you guys! Hotel Inari was fantastic! Stunning location, beautiful facilities! Lovely food, we had the half board option and had breakfast and a lovely 3 course evening meal each night. The excursions were also fantastic and the location is close to Inari where the Sami museum was very interesting, we walked into town which took about 40 minutes.
