Beautiful building, with proper attention to its industrial past. Very good breakfast and good facilities in the rooms. Check-out went quick and I like it that checking out is possible till 12:00. The staff present to assist withthe conference was very professional and also the food at the conference was beyond expectations, even with 1000 guests.

Scratch beneath the small-town surface of Helsinki and you will find a cosmopolitan metropolis buzzing with a lively attitude and plenty of excitement. The relatively short-lived summer offers the best chance to appreciate the outdoors and sit on one of the popular café terraces, or even hit the Hietaniemi Beach, all of which can be enjoyed during the 20 hours of daylight.
Strolling around the streets of Helsinki will reveal an Empire-style of architecture, comparable to St. Petersburg. The greatest example of this is the green-domed Lutheran Cathedral which rises proudly out of the centre of Senate Square.
From here the main shopping street of Aleksanterinkatu, affectionately known as Aleksi, runs towards Mannerheimintie and contains the largest department store in Scandinavia, called Stockmann. The up-market boulevard of Esplanadi runs alongside and is packed with exclusive boutiques.

Bearing in mind that it was the depths of Winter, we managed to see a lot, having arrived early on day one, utilizing the luggage storage at the station, and leaving on the evening train to Rovaniemi the next. First morning was spent in the centre; afternoon was a highlight, going to Seurasaari. This can be walked to, especially if you make coffee stops along the way. We arrived in a blizzard which was highly atmospheric. For getting back there are buses, or Bolt won't break the bank. Next day we took ferry to Sumolinnen; in contrast to Seurasaari it's quite grey and bleak due to it having been a fortress. Not sure I'd like to be one of the 800 inhabitants. Overall, Helsinki is pleasant; would be curious to see in Spring or Summer.

We had been to Helsinki before so we had already seen many tourist attractions. Had trips to Porvoo and Tallinn which were a little disappointing because so many things were closed at this time of year. Public transport system was excellent. We were surprised by the graffiti.

Helsinki is a fascinating city with a huge number of attractions, and the convenience of the public transport network, especially the trams, makes it easy to get around. The down-side - it's expensive, like all of Scandinavia. But there are several excellent markets so buy your own for breakfast and day-tripping, and splash out in the evening!

Even in the dead of Winter in frigid temperatures, we found the city to be alive with people. We were fortunate to experience Helsinki Lux (light show) and walk around on a sunny Sunday experiencing beautiful architecture and fun shopping on the Esplanade (good sales in January!)
The Kiasma is lovely as is the new OODI library. Bundle up and get out for a brisk walk, just like the Finns.

I only had 2 nights there between planes. It seems like a beautiful city, with alot to do. Restaurants are open late - even on Sunday, and it looks like there is alot of action on Friday nights. It also seems to be a city with alot of cultural activities, along with many nature spots. Lots of public transportation options, and they seem to run late.

Helsinki is a very quiet, yet fascinating city, with a great atmosphere especially during winter holidays. The city centre is easy to navigate (small but dense), and full of attractions like Kauppatori local market, unconventional churches like Temppeliaukio, malls, and lovely cafes (Fazer is very recommended and typical). The local transport is very efficient and well organized, and allows reaching easily the Helsinki zoo (which is open all year round) and the Suomelinna fortress (on a separate island). Finnish people are very quiet, reserved, but also welcoming and caring. Enjoy :)

The breakfast price is reasonable at the hotel. The location is good because we could easily access any important facilities from the location (Embassies, City Center, Airport..). I have stayed for a week, they did try to arrange the booking within a room so that we could have the most space as we could.
We have more than 70 million property reviews, and they're all from real, verified guests.
