I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were very friendly (special thanks to Nik and Sofia). The breakfast was great, with a nice buffet and fresh options like eggs, juice, pancakes, and waffles cooked on the spot. The location is perfect – right on the promenade, just steps from the beach with comfortable sunbeds. There’s also a rooftop pool (though quite small, but great for a refreshing dip), bar, and amazing sea views, plus a small spa with hammam and massages. The room was very clean, housekeeping every day and the bed super comfortable. I also appreciated the complimentary cava from the hotel and the daily water refills in the room 🫶 I would definitely come back!

The gardens are fabulous and the pool is also great . You are also above a lovely secluded beach so you can take a swim there too . They have also opened a new area next door whilst we were there . It’s has another pool; loads of loungers; a bar and 3 extras suites above . Plus the spa is incredible - pool, jacuzzi; cold room; sauna and multiple different showers and jets to try . The room we had was superb . Well laid out; sufficient cupboards; luxurious gowns and slippers. The decor is laid back elegant in tones of ecru, oak and white . The couches and bed are fabulously comfortable and the bed linen is crisp. The towels are an excellent quality as well as the toiletry products . The bathroom or changing room could do with somewhere to hang the bath towels as there are only 2 hooks in the bathroom and the gowns were on those. The hotel is a blissful oasis of quiet and calm . The staff are a delight and friendly. The main town is about 10-15 minutes walk and there are many restaurants and shops . The breakfast at the hotel is incredible and the pastry, cake and bread section is next level . We enjoyed the lunch on the patio and the main restaurant . We stayed in a sea view suite but we saw the delux rooms and they were lovely too .

All is modern, clean and very convenient. Full-fledged and separate hairdryer in the bathroom, automatic conditioning system, nice view from the balcony, a cattle with tea and coffee in the room, nice sheets and cozy bedroom. People is going to Platja Aro from Girona airport to Planamar hotel: at airport take L602 or L607 (€2.85/person/single) to bus Girona Station, get off the bus then walk to stop 3, take Sarfa bus from bus station to Platja Aro (€6.35/person/single), then follow google map walk about 10 mins to hotel.

There is a great range of restaurants and shops in Platja...

There is a great range of restaurants and shops in Platja d'Aro which made it ideal for us now that we no longer want to spend a long time on a beach or swimming in the sea. The beach is not ideal for swimming because the sand is very soft and at our age it was difficult to keep our footing. I could have got into the sea and swum, despite the steepness of the sand. Getting out would have been very difficult indeed and probably dangerous.

Ideal if you like Beaches and Shopping .

Ideal if you like Beaches and Shopping . Restaurant's mainly Tapas dining, Menus not always easy to understand if you don't speak the language . Busy resort , Ideal Centre to stay if wishing to explore the rest of the Costa Brava coastline. Amazing Water Park nearby for more active people.

Platja d’Aro is very easy to access from the AP7 by road and...

Platja d’Aro is very easy to access from the AP7 by road and is not far from Girona. It is modern and has a long sandy tree lined beach and also a very pretty smaller one. It has good shops and a nice variety of ones selling clothes. There are an excellent choice of restaurants with very good quality of food. Lots of places to sit outside enjoying tapas. One of my favourites on the Costa Brava.

I have had a property near to Platja D'aro for over 20 years...

I have had a property near to Platja D'aro for over 20 years and make regular visits always taking in Platja D'aro on a few occasions as it has a great choice of restaurants. It has a great water park for kids although it is a little expensive. If you are inclined to visit a little further afield there are many great beaches and small coves and restaurants that make the Costa Brava so exceptional but you do need a car. Taxis are expensive and public transport is almost non-existent

Loved the area, town was buzzing with lots of shops and restaurants and funfair. Very busy at the weekend, hard to a table in a restaurant without queuing. Not very English oriented, not many English speaking people so be prepared to try to learn a bit of Spanish. Beach at Playa d'aro was coarse but with lots of water sports and restaurants on the promenade. Coast was gorgeous with lots of walks and coves to discover. Easy walk to S'agaro with nice small town and gorgeous sandy beach, lots of water sports.

Location is great. 10 mins walk to beach and town. Staff were friendly. Kids enjoyed how deep pool was for diving. Hotel was clean.
