We only stayed for one night at Hostal Lola, but this was our best accommodation of a two week trip to Northern Spain. The building has a lovely old facade, but the interior is thoroughly modern and very tastefully decorated. The staff were all super friendly, and the breakfast was very good. Our room was more than large enough, with doors to the balcony, and we had terrific views. The bathroom was modern, and everything worked well. The general standard of Hostal Lola is so high that we asked the owner why it is not classified as a hotel. We were surprised to learn that this is only due to outdated Spanish regulations, which state you need a landline phone connection to be a hotel. Let's hope that the regulations catch up with the 21st Century! Isaba is a small village in the middle of the mountains, so it is an excellent place for some walking (you can find an old Roman bridge if you venture out) and relaxing. If you come by car or motorbike, there is free public parking just around the corner - it's a two minute walk. Cyclists are also very welcome. I strongly recommend this Hostal.

The apartment was great, in a fantastic location with mountain views. The host was very attentive and kept us informed about the weather conditions, especially considering the snow that had fallen, so we could plan our mountain hikes. Besides the bars, there's a grill and cider house with set menus and draft cider—perfect for lunch or dinner.

There was nothing we didn't like.

There was nothing we didn't like. The village is beautiful and the people are very friendly and welcoming. It's the perfect place to start exploring the Irati Forest. Wandering the streets makes perfect sense if you do it in Otsagabía.

A very beautiful trip, both for the scenery and the people. A gorgeous area for hiking and visiting places like the arms factory and Roncesvalles with its collegiate church and the Circus of Charlemagne.

Ochagavía is a beautiful village. A gateway to the Irati Forest, which is a marvel in itself, and especially for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle. Its people are friendly and welcoming. And its cuisine... a true delight.

A beautiful town with stunning scenery.

A beautiful town with stunning scenery. Green, with beautiful forests and beech groves at the gateway to the Pyrenees, near other idyllic valleys like Roncal and Ansó, already in Aragon. Very close to Orbaiceta and its famous 17th-century arms factory. Steeped in history.

The hotel is in the very pretty town of Ochagavía and perfect for driving to Selva de Irati, which we did for hiking. We spent 2 nights and the hotel offered us the Menu for dinner, which we had both nights. The young waiter, Daniel, is extremely friendly, polite and a good worker. The location is perfect. We loved our stay in Ochagavía.

The staff were excellent, very helpful. The room, superior, was very clean and substantial. The restaurant was very good, way beyond its cost or hotel rating. The pool was a bonus although a little chilly. Secure parking for bikes.

Very comfortable apartment in the centre of the wonderful village of Ochagavia. Our host, Yolanda was brilliant, and made us feel very welcome. Everything very clean and tidy. Would definitely return.
