L’Hospitalet de Llobregat is roughly midway between Barcelona El Prat Airport and the centre of the Catalan capital, which makes it a popular accommodation choice. Although now effectively a Barcelona suburb, it is actually a separate city and is one of the most densely populated in the EU, which means no shortage of cheap hostels, modern apartments and luxury hotels on Booking.com.
One of these – the Hesperia Hotel – is a landmark in its own right, as its bulbous tower encloses a panoramic restaurant. Other innovative skyscrapers pepper the skyline – a sign of the city’s financial importance. Fira Barcelona Montjuic is a busy exhibition centre and across the road is the large Gran Via 2 Shopping Centre.
Metro stations on the Gran Via connect Hospitalet de Llobregat to Plaça d'Espanya. It is also linked to Barcelona Sants by trains from the station near El Centre, the oldest district. Narrow Carrer Xipreret is lined with pastel-coloured buildings and a historic building around the corner houses the Hospitalet History Museum. Another interesting structure is the Can Sumarro library and the surrounding shops, cafés and bars reflect the diverse population.
In the north, near Barcelona’s Les Corts district, is the iconic Nou Camp stadium, home of world-famous FC Barcelona.

This is a good place if metro station Santa Eulalia is nearby. You can reach city centre in 15 mins from the Santa Eulalia metro station without changing lines. And its great for Conference at Fira Gran Via, Bus V1 takes you there in 15 mins.

I like the town. It's nice and hospitable.
I like the town. It's nice and hospitable. It's a short distance from Barcelona proper, so Ubers are cheap. Everything I wanted to go to was within 15 minutes (except Park Guell, which was 30). The hotel has a nice restaurant, where we had breakfast every day during our stay. Since our room had a kitchen, we bought food items from a local Lidl down the road and took care of ourselves. It was an excellent getaway, one I'd do again at some point soon.

I’ve been to Barcelona before but not stayed in this area...
I’ve been to Barcelona before but not stayed in this area before. It seems very safe, and plenty going on. Very easy to get to on the Metro and local stops make easy access to the centre. I walked to Espanya a couple of times , which takes around 30 mins. To get to the historic centre on foot would take an hour and thirty minutes (I think) but very quick on metro or bus. This was my sons first time abroad so we did a long weekend.
This was my sons first time abroad so we did a long weekend. We walked loads and saw loads.. We found the location to be almost perfect for what we wanted! We walked up to camp nou, caught a cab to Barceloneta beach, went to the Cathederal, did the cable car up to the castle. We even bought tickets to the natural history museum.. (we didn't get there due to taxis cancelling - siesta). We watched Barcelona Ladies play at Estadi Johan Cruyff and went to the Mall. The trip was brilliant, convenient location and loads to do and eat. The food is amazing.. we didn't have a single bad or even meh meal. Definitely would recommend! There's bus stops really local if you're confident on public transport (I used Uber as I am not confident).LeanneUnited Kingdom - Scored 1010

The business district is quiet and feels safer than central Barcelona. The main commute is via train and metro - so it’s fine if they are running. It’s close to the airport and the hotels are good value for money in comparison to the more central hotels.

You can park your car near the hotel for free. Easy to get to and from the airport! Quiet, peaceful area, subway stop is very close, you can go to the crowded center of Barcelona in just a few minutes. The room is very comfortable. I'm glad I chosed this offer.
