The view from the rooftop terrace is just extraordinary! Everything you need in a vacation house as a couple, is present. Jorge is a very friendly and competent host. He helped us when we needed it the most in a stressful situation regarding our rental car. I would recommend Casa El Tajaraste when staying in Hermigua.

A beautiful location on the edge of Hermigua. There is a very fine patio area outside the apartment for dining with fine views and something of a sun trap. The kitchenette, although small has most things and overall it is an immaculate place.

Hermigua - great starting point for hikes, for artists and...

Hermigua - great starting point for hikes, for artists and creatives, and for a vacation of tranquility. We liked the location in the green hills, the tranquility but also that Hermigua offers plenty of facilities, such as supermarkets and restaurants. For us, it was a perfect staring point for our hikes. After an active day, we could rest on the terrace of our cottage and enjoy the fantastic view during a glass of wine. Also, it is close enough to the sea and San Sebastian, the largest city can be reached within half an hour. From our cottage, Casa Panama, we could reach town centre within 15-20 minutes on foot to do our shopping or to go for a walk. There are three supermarkets within reach + an organic biofinca where you can get fresh vegetables and fruits that are picked freshly in the garden. We had dinner at Los Telares that was delicious and visited more by tourists. For a local experience, I recommend La Casa Creativa that offers great quality for a good price. We also loved the food as well as the cosy admosphere and the friendly staff. A great activity is to go swimming at Piscina Natural which is a natural swimming pool and amazing but only recommendable during low tide and needs to be done with prudence. To summarize: Hermigua is a great place for hikers, artists and creatives and people who look for tranquility in a beautiful surrounding.

It’s a beautiful village nestled in the mountains.

It’s a beautiful village nestled in the mountains. It’s close to the national park and if you like hiking then it’s ideal but I’d suggest having a car as the local bus timetable is very confusing and not very frequent.

Everywhere was shut we arrived on 28 June but apparently all the local restaurants close during June for their annual vacation we should have been told this there was absolutely nowhere to eat our apartment was not accessible as my husband has mobility problems he is 77 years old we were expecting to use the Infinity pool which was a plunge pool with approx 6 inches of filthy gree water photo included

If you like tranquility, walks and hikes, time away from any tourism It has a well stocked local shop and a health food shop with German bread Parking is a challenge in the village and having had parking with accommodation was a relief. Restaurant Faro is incredible- need to book though, very popular Not a beach vacation but wonderful hikes all around

It could be the best hiking place on La Gomera.

It could be the best hiking place on La Gomera. The village is surrounded by mountains of about 800-1000 meters, making it very picturesque place. As for hiking there are a few hiking paths going through the village, I made three nearly circular paths for 30-20-30 km, so there are variants.

Beautiful picturesque place , places to see & things to do, nice food, nice people, la Caleta beach is not for the faint of heart, up a risky mountain , we turned around half way , as still had an up hill climb and the a decent to the beach , I found it a bit scary. Lol

Once the booking had been completed, and the deposit had been taken and online check-in completed, everything went smoothly. The property was lovely and comfortable, with great facilities, and the location was very picturesque and convenient. Hermigua is a friendly town, with lots of nice restaurant and shops, and the excellent tidal swimming pool is about 20 minutes walk from the house.

Location with wonderful views over Hermigua and across to Mount Teide. Authentic family run hotel with relaxed vibe. Outdoor space was lovely, especially at breakfast. The breakfast itself was varied and delicious. Bedroom was traditional and comfortable with high wooden ceiling and a well appointed en-suite.
