The location off the main highway, the village and the castle. Mainly the hospitality which was so welcoming and thoughtful. The rooms are beautifully done and the breakfast prepared personally by the owners and served in the shared space was outstanding. We decided last minute to find a location outside of the bigger towns on our way from Madrid to Alicante and picked Alarcon. Wow! It was just pretty and unique and the best experience.

Parador de Alarcón is an 8th-century Moorish castle, set next to the Júcar River. It is located above the Medieval village of Alarcón, and offers free public parking on site.

Arriving at the Alarcon village was like something out of a story book with the castle being the main character. It was such a treat to stay in a building so beautifully preserved. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were cosy and warm and the food at the restaurant was excellent. If your budget allows it, book your stay in the tower for the whole experience. Alarcón is a pretty village with a selection of restaurants and bars.

The Moragona is a little off the beaten track and definitely is Rural. A wonderful experience as we were the only guests that night. We reassured the manager that there was no need to open the restaurant for just us and that we were happy to eat in the bar area. The evening meal was home cooked and excellent and breakfast was very good.

Due to personal circumstances we had to reduce our stay by one night and the Hotel Staff were very understanding and helpful. We were only charged for one night. The evening meal (from the Bar Menu) was exceptional and I would highly recommend it.

Gorgeous home. Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable with everything needed. Loved the courtyard! Location is perfect in a very beautiful and Spanish town. Only watch out is supermarket is a drive away so make sure you bring milk etc with you or be prepared to drive.
