This is the best BB hotel I have ever stayed. I know them very well from Germany. It is new, rooms are spacious!!! Bathroom great. The gentleman who was on service on 5th October who get an employee of the year award. Very kind, friendly, attentive. I saw him checking in more than 12 people. Hotel is just next to Aldi. Breakfast was good and all fresh. Stay there before others discover it!

Claudia did an excellent job in accomodating safe storage for our motorbikes. She was very friendly and helpful, no question was too much. Rooms and beds were OK. The hotel is somewhat out dated, but has its charms and is by far compensated by the personnel.

Castro is perfect for an overnight pit stop or a short stay. Picturesque resort, not too “touristy”, pleasant walk along the promenade, looking out to sea, lots of places to get tapas in the old part of town. Can’t fault the place, really!

Lovely sweet town only 40 minutes by car from Centre of town -we used Centaur car hire --excellent great church, castle, lots of piers, so clean many cafes -- we ate in cute Chinese restaurant for a change --cute nice old medieval arch and amazing church !!!!!

Castro Urdiales is a beautiful place to visit and stay. The people there are friendly and helpful In bars/cafes/shops etc where staff are plesent and helpful at all times. The area is very clean and welcoming. There are beautiful walks and interesting places to see. It is very easy to get round the area and buses are plentiful. Eating and drinking is in abundance everywhere. The entire town is walker friendly and very beautiful at night when the Cathedral and Castle are lit up. It features a long prom and a short prom with fantastice views over the ocean. 20 minutes drive from Bilboa. 45 minutes drive from Santander.

Castro Urdiales is one of the most beautiful little towns in the world, in my opinion. It is picturesque, homely and offers a huge array of wonderful bars and restaurants with some of the best pintxos in the north of Spain. Also seagulls!

I used Castro Urdiales as a stop-over from my house in...

I used Castro Urdiales as a stop-over from my house in Alicante to the ferry in Bilbao. Mea Culpa. After a long days drive I was not appreciative of how unfriendly to visitors wrt parking CU was. Every single street and car parking zone was "Azul/Blue" which meant residents only except 1000-1400 and 1600-2000. No overnight parking was possible except for an underground car park which was exhorbitant [typical tourist trap car park] or a really dodgy area with derelict buildings and no street lighting. Unfortunately, as I was in transit I didn't get a chance to walk around the port, which on paper at least looks interesting. Unfortunately I left with no good impression of CU I will admit that I am biased. I don't like cities. CU is a very busy place. I will not go again. Having spoken to others I have been directed to better places, with views, less noisy.

This is a small resort town with nice beaches, harbour, good views. Great restaurants and bars. The promenade is lovely. The place was a lovely surprise. I hadn't expected it to be so nice. I was just passing through walking the Camino but it is a place I would have happily spent a week in.
