Amazing! The staff is great, you get there by private boat and private tuktuk on the island. There is a great rock to meditate on, connect the earth and the sky while surrounded by water.

The breathtaking location is marred by an excellent treatment by Tamar and his colleagues, who are like a family and would make you feel part of it during your stay. They will try to help you with any request you might have during your stay. You do not even need to leave the island as their chef and staff can provide you with an outstanding Nubian dinner (as vegetarians they even adapt to our dietary requirements). Their generous Egyptian breakfast facing the Nile will surely give you the strength you need for exploring neighbour Philae temple or just to enjoy the afternoon in their comfortable common area.

There is incredible river view for all rooms. The room is clean, tidy and well equipped. The breakfast and lunch is also very delicious. Last but not least, the service is wonderful. All people there are so nice. They always answer questions in WhatsApp timely and patiently, and proactively provide help even before we ask for. The whole experience is excellent.

Simple and Basic Nubian style guest house. Clean and comfortable. Kato in Nubian language means guest house - Karim, the co -owner has built this place up himself, converted from a family home of his Nubian partner. Karim was very accommodating, helped liaise with Egyptian airport authorities over my lost luggage! - quite a headache for him ahh! He catered to my every need, helped me find the items I was looking for in Aswan market, and guided me to the best fried fish I tasted in Egypt! The location is beautiful. Heissa Island is a very special place - the tranquility and beauty of the Nile, and other worldly atmosphere, coupled with the stunning views from the guesthouse provide much needed time out of the hustle and bustle, rest and relaxation. In the centre of Asilah Kato is also a stone courtyard, with beautiful embroidered upholstery to sit upon, and with fire pit in the centre, where - undisturbed by light pollution - the star scape is incredible at night. Asilah Kato is short boat ride away from both the original site of Isis's temple and the relocated temple at Philae. Karim can organise travel by boat for you to any local locations.

Staying at Eco Nubia was the highlight of our trip. It felt like a breath of fresh air—no one was aggressively asking for tips or pushing us to buy things. The staff were genuinely helpful, arranging boat rides and carrying our bags without expecting anything in return. If I ever travel to Egypt again, I’ll definitely book Eco Nubia. Thanks for a relaxing and hassle-free experience!! P.S. I absolutely loved Eco Nubia’s resident cat—he’s the cutest!

Beautifully decorated and appointed rooms. The House has an authentic (based in a Nubian village) and warm energy. Fatima who runs it, cannot do enough for you and the crocodile pool at the front is in unexpected joy. Quiet and away from the noise of Aswan for an easy getaway to Abu Simbel etc. Thank you for a great stay.
