The location is perfect for visiting the Quilotoa Laguna. The room was clean and the bad was comfy. The shower had hot water and we also had a fire oven and a electrical heater in the room which saved our live. Breakfast and Dinner have been included, both were very good and more than enough.

Rooms are lovely. Well equipped and beautifully decorated. Beautiful bathroom too. And a great view from the balcony. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were both excellent and I enjoyed a great conversation with Mamá Hilda after dinner and in the morning too. There are quite a lot of activities available to do in Chugchilán. I would have enjoyed to stay 2 or 3 nights there just to relax instead of only an overnight stay during the Quilotoa Loop.

This place is insane! Who would expect this much luxury, quite affordable too, in such an environment? Super clean accommodation, friendly staff, fresh towels, soap, hot shower with great pressure, option to book sauna or Turkish bath for 6 dollar/hour. Dinner and breakfast included and incredibly tasty. Three course dinner, breakfast with pancakes, fruit, eggs etc.

Incredibly friendly family who all go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and happy. We ate delicious food, received loads of local knowledge of places to visit, and slept very well in their comfortable beds. The shower is next level.

Only use it as a base for the last night rather than rushing to catch the bus back to Latacunga before 5pm. Bus in the morning left at 8.45am. Perfect! (Even though the hostel told us 8am and every hour on the hour! NOT

This is a must see beautiful place.

This is a must see beautiful place. The drive to Quiatola has some of the most spectacular views in Ecuador. The views at Quiatola are breathtaking. Be prepared to pay a nominal per person fee to get into the park at Quiatola.

The Princessa Tia Hotel is the place to stay in Quilatoa,...

The Princessa Tia Hotel is the place to stay in Quilatoa, best location, great breakfast, large room and bathroom, very clean and comfortable bed. But the best feature is the rooms all have an electric heater. Quilatoa is cold, so the benefit of the heater, which is rare to find anywhere in Ecuador, is amazing! The rim hike is beautiful but steep and slippery in places. Poles would be a good idea. The hike down to the lake is surprisingly long, steep and slippery. There are horses or mules that can take you back up for $10 pp. Get out early as the fog moves in around 4pm and obscures visibility of the lake. The sun in the morning makes the water’s colors amazing. You can take a kayak out or go for a motorized ride in a zodiac. The town is tiny and closes up early so don’t delay going to dinner. There are no pharmacies or banks and only 1 ATM which wouldn’t work with our card. Also, be careful because there are no gas stations for the entire Quilatoa Loop. Fill up before heading up either route to Quilatoa.

We were in Quitoloa during the low season. Not too crowded :) Accommodations at Cuchirawa Hostel were directly across from the crater. Ample free parking; we walked everywhere. Enjoyed a post-hike beer at a restaurant on the crater ridge.

The viewpoints are beautiful, offering a stunning view of the lagoon, and the handicrafts they sell are charming. What I liked least was the quality of the food; the local vendors sometimes aren't truthful about what they offer in terms of food and preparation. You have to make sure that what they advertise is what you'll actually get, and you should negotiate in the shops because they often charge exorbitant prices.

I really enjoyed the hike around the Laguna Crater.

I really enjoyed the hike around the Laguna Crater. It's a hike that can push you out of your comfort zone, but if you start early, you can walk at a leisurely pace and enjoy the scenery. It's a good idea to bring a windbreaker because the wind is strong and persistent.

Nice room, good food, great value for the money. Staff was very nice and helpful, staff came to put fire in the fire place and it was very nice and kept the place warm. Overall all it was rather rustic but then what to expect at the end of the road high up in the mountains? Felt very safe in Quilotoa.

Super friendly and helpful staff, also with food allergies+vegetarian. Good good and loads of it! Location is literally 5min walk from the bus stop, 2min from shops/centre and 5min from the quilotoa Crater lake. They were super easy with turning the stove on whenever you wanted, as its very cold.
