Svendborg is a lovely seaport with great seafood. During the summer the harbour is filled with many interesting old, wooden, sea craft and there are many restaurants and bars close by. A ferry to the neighbouring island of Æreø departs from the harbour every 1-2 hours. The small town of Ærøskøbing on this island is well worth a visit. This place is like something out of a Walt Disney movie. Cobbled streets are lined on both sides with beautiful houses all of which seem to date from 1700-1800's with odd ones dating back even earlier.

Beautiful little town.

Beautiful little town. We arrived on a Friday late afternoon and it was great to be in a lively city after days in the country side. We really enjoyed walking around the harbour, where there was plenty of choice for drinks and food. Downtown was lovely too.

We were supposed to move to Odense, but we fell in love with Svendborg and decided to look for an apartment here. It is a truly magical place with its good people. It fits old and young just perfectly. Great architecture. Can't wait to celebrate Christmas here

Svenborg is a lovely medium-sized town with plenty of shops and restaurants for a pleasant stay. The surrounding area is beautiful, and you can take many excursions to other towns, forests, and especially many beaches.

I didn't like Svendborg; it's not a city I would consider...

I didn't like Svendborg; it's not a city I would consider worth visiting. The harbor scene is more functional than picturesque. I looked at other destinations on Funen and Langeland.

Svendborg Cosy was the best place I stayed during my holiday trip through Denmark. The kitchen is remarkable well equipped. The room is sufficiently equipped. Wifi is free and works well. Showers take some time to get warm but that's no problem. I have prepared all meals on my own, so I can't tell about the brekfast. I can highly recommend this place and would stay there again if I'm in the area. Thanks for this cosy place, Niels!

Comfortable beds, clean, powerful shower. Good location. Easy walk to harbour area for evening food and beer. Bakery close by for breakfast, opens 6:30. 4 parking spaces at rear of hotel (small tight spaces though), 1 hour parking out front for about 6 cars (free from 18:00 to 9:00) but opposite bus station, paid multi-storey parking behind hotel (free from 18:00 to 9:00, no ticket required in this period) which is what we used.

The location is just magical, on top of the hill with an amazing view of Svendborg. Niels is a truly caring host and available for enquiries anytime. The breakfast is great and there is also coffee and tea available anytime. The space is very clean and the bathrooms/showers as well. Very cozy house and beautiful yard.

Absolutely great location… very comfy and cozy rooms… but more importantly: amazing staff… friendly, helpful and present… breakfast is impressive… healthy and lots of variety… every evening there’s buffet with finesse… we fell in love in such way we forget to check out 😁 Kudos to the entire team of Hotel Svendborg.
