We are an old couple of over 70 years old, and we are taking a long trip with 4 pieces of luggage. We are staying in the First Hotel Grand for 3 nights. We are so happy and lucky to meet smiling and helpful Matilde in the reception. She has tried her very best to show the First Hotel Grand’s first class of warm hospitality! Not only she kindly and thoughtfully helped us with the room, but also with the parking in the rain. She even kindly offered her help for our heavy luggage. Our special and sincere thanks go to Matilde and also to Stefania who has also warmly helped us for other things. Both of them really make us happy customers of the hotel. Location of the hotel is excellent, less than 5 minutes to the street with the Andersen house and then a few steps to the other central streets of Odense. You can walk to everything and then walk back to the hotel. The room was very very small (although I knew this when booking), but it was still cute. There is no closet, just a rack for clothes with shelves, but it's very practical and you can put everything you need on it. Our room faced the inner courtyard so it was quiet. They kindly allowed us to extend the check out time by 2 hours. The hotel has a fenced parking lot, but there is only room for a few cars. It is always possible to take free coffee and coffee drinks from the excellent coffee machine, which is great. Breakfast was ok, but could be better. There were scrambled eggs, le brie cheese, bread, paprika, butter, honey, chia seeds with fruit, yogurt with nuts, pancakes and a few other things.

Lovely town which was easy to navigate and walk around.

Lovely town which was easy to navigate and walk around. We were only there for a day and a half but walked round the town, visited the food court - to be recommended- walked along the river past the zoo. Some nice restaurants with good choice - a bit more difficult for vegetarians but still doable. The museums are in the centre - If I returned a car would be a definite as there is a lot to see and do.

The pedestrianised centre is amazing.

The pedestrianised centre is amazing. A mixture of old and new buildings. Good museums. Lovely walking along the river towards the zoo and beyond. Good choice of restaurants but recommend booking ahead specially on festive weeks. Also enjoyed greatly watching the badminton championship- the main reason for our visit.

Odense has many attractions for young and old.

Odense has many attractions for young and old. If you are a tea enthusiast, you must visit Perch's Tea House for tea and scones in an elegant setting. The Brandt Museum is not worth it unless you enjoy somewhat outrageous modern art including what looked like a dead dog on a small blanket. There are also some great side trips include Egiskov Castle and all the museums around it. The pedestrian zone in Odense has a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and great people watching. We had a good tapas dinner and very poor sushi dinner, so a quick look at menus is highly recommended.

I enjoyed my visit and will definitely be back. A large roomy, nicely renovated hotel. It's not the most scenic hotel but it is conveniently located. The rates were very reasonable and my room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The staff were friendly and I like the fact that I could grab a coffee from the machines in the foyer area. It made my stay even more relaxing. Thank you.

2 days are enough, if you are there to visit the city and the Andersen Museum and house. I would have stayed more if it was during the festival which starts on August 14th and if I wNted to visit other museums

Odense is a lovely city within Fyn, Denmark.

Odense is a lovely city within Fyn, Denmark. Beautiful sights to see and lovely food. A little town where it’s perfect for tourists to enjoy. Would recommend to somebody who loves a clean, quiet and well looked after city. For somebody who has struggled to learn Danish, it’s very easy to communicate with others around you.

A classic great breakfast with both bread and warm alternative dishes. Bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and panncakes. Cheese, ham, salami and vegeteables. Youghurt, fruitsalad and minidonuts. Coffe, juice and other alternatives. Overall a great breakfast in my taste. Free parking if avaliable. We got a great spot and i was very surpised it was free. Odense i such a clean city where they have managed to mix old and new architecture perfect. Excellent variety of restauratns and pubs. Just loved our stay.

I had a great stay at the hotel, right next to the train station. This was my second stay at a Cabinn hotel, so I knew what to expect. The rooms are based off a cabin, you will find on an overnight ferry. So they are small but functional. The bed was good and the shower hot, I had more than enough space for my luggage. If you spend most of the day exploring the city, then this place is perfect for the price. The staff at the reception were really friendly and helpful!!

Located right in the heart of Odense, we had a delightful stay in this quaint and cozy accommodation. The location was perfect, allowing us to explore the city's main attractions with ease.
