Very accommodating staff who helped us into our room a little early. Perfect storage space for cycles. Friendly owner and a delicious breakfast. It was the first proper breakfast of our cycle journey and we'll enjoyed. We had a view to the garden and the early morning bird song was absolutely lovely. Many thanks.

Amazing location! Very kind hosts (Bauke (Dutch) and Lone (Danish)). Breakfast was very complete and delicious. Close to Nykøbing, and a 10 minutes car ride to beaches (tip: leave before sunset, walk around the beach and its city, then end reading your book as the sun goes down. There are benches on the way back at the Hasselovej). Will definitely consider to come back when visiting Denmark again.

Beautiful island with many excursion options.

Beautiful island with many excursion options. We went there by bicycle. Compared to Germany, the cycle paths there are excellent and very well signposted. Just follow the signs and you'll reach your destination. There's always a dedicated lane or even wide, paved paths built across the island.

NB! We came alone to visit our aunt in a nursing home, and...

NB! We came alone to visit our aunt in a nursing home, and only stayed overnight due to the 4 hour transport each way, and the possibility of dividing our time with our aunt over 2 days. We WOULD return to Sønderjylland after 1 night. BUT we will definitely come again to experience the area with its absolutely beautiful location.

so good when I got to go down and experience and see the big change from when I was a child and young and came every summer on vacation to my grandparents. And the joy of seeing their house was still there, and all the houses looked the same, except for a little paint. such a lovely experience.

The accommodation was listed as costing €82, plus €7 for bed...

The accommodation was listed as costing €82, plus €7 for bed linen (2 x €7) and breakfast (2 x €7). However, €118 was charged. The difference could not be explained. €118 is significantly more than a hotel room costing €90-€95. This is unacceptable!

I booked this hotel because of the history and craftsmanship. I'm a historical building nerd and this was heaven for me, to see how beautifully it was built and decorated, every nook and cranny something new to look at and marvel. I came alone and enjoyed my stay immensely. The building is stunning along with the grounds. The bedroom well equipped and very comfortable. The staff couldn't have been more attentive. The food, wow, exceptional. Highly recommend. A special place.
