The location is excellent and close to Kolding town hall! There are really nice restaurants around and the Koldinghus castle is just a 10 minute walk. The service was excellent and the breakfast spread was amazing. Also they are dog friendly ☺️

Great location in calm and beautiful place. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. Pillows and blankets are of high quality. Soft like clouds) Breakfast is various with everything fresh. I like herb tea made by leaves,not tea bags. And in this hotel the choice for leaves tea for breakfast is marvelous, around 9 options.

We were very pleased with everything this hotel has to offer its guests. On arrival, a very nice and professional lady at the reception welcomed us warmly and gave us all the necessary and useful information for our stay. The surprise was the excellent coffee and tea, including fresh fruit, all free of charge throughout our stay. Breakfast was also of an excellent standard with very tasty cheeses, salami, pastries and the ginger shot was also not to be missed. The room was comfortable, clean and the large windows and terrace had a nice view of the city. The whole hotel has a unique atmosphere like in a fantasy story.

The Danhostel is an outstanding place to stay. The facilities available for guests are brilliant from the guest kitchen which is fully equipped to the games room and the good sized bedrooms. The staff were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. The location is perfect, close to the town and a supermarket about a 5 minute walk. The grounds are beautifully maintained and surrounded by large trees. I could not have asked for anything better and would highly recommend this place for families, couples and friends. Thank you so much for making our stay in Denmark so memorable.

Kolding is a small city, but blended with different dynamic...

Kolding is a small city, but blended with different dynamic ambiance, people of different diversities are living there. Convenient transportation, old and beautiful Danish buildings for artistic pleasure, a university (SDU) and a public library for intellectual enjoyment. Walking along the roads in the central part or wandering around the lake are always very soothing. Besides, Koldinghus is a very worthy choice, where radical architectural designs back up the old brick wall, new lifestyle merges well with the tradition. They even have a live performance show mimicking the old royal life.

Kolding is not great as a home base for exploring western...

Kolding is not great as a home base for exploring western Denmark. The trains connect thru Fredericia and you often have to change. Fredericia is a very busy interchange. I would opt for staying in Aarhus or even Vejle. More things to see and do in those cities.

Quiet cosy town with a castle and lots of options of good...

Quiet cosy town with a castle and lots of options of good dining. Walk around the lake is exeptional wspecially with a sunny weather. Wild gooses are enjoiying themselve by the castle as well. Good location if you want to get to Vojens or Billund. Fast free roads are helping with that. Nearby options to get to know the history of DNK available. Highly recommended site!

There was a great restaurant across the square from the hotel, next to the station building. The Pizza was especially good. There was free parking in the station carpark around 100m away from the hotel and what looked like a number of other free parking opportunities in the area.

Lovely little town with a variety of old buildings, small streets, lovely park areas and good choices of food outlets. Ate at the Ristorante Fratelli across the street from the hotel. Excellent ! ! Easy to walk around to town.

Kolding was a bit of a mixed bag.

Kolding was a bit of a mixed bag. We stayed for 2 nights and used it as a base to travel to Legoland and other parts of Jutland. The drive into Kolding was slow due to traffic, and finding parking next to the hotel was tricky with the different duration rules, but then settled on parking in the hotel itself. In the evening, around 7ish, the area around the castle felt very quiet, too quiet. There were restaurants open but it did not feel lively, though this may have been because it was mid April. A nice stop was at the StorCentre shopping centre. Plenty more people here, lots of shops and lots of food opens. Restaurants seem to stay open longer here than the rest of denmark in general. All in all not a bad stay, definitely needed more time to explore.

breakfast was quite okay, not as extensive as in the scandic hotel i usually stay in but good enough. The bed was comfortable, room was clean and no noises/it was quiet. There was free parking in the area incl charging stations. The Fratelli Italian restaurant across the street is very good.

Super welcome and advise from Lysbeth. Possibility to heaten simple dinner for tired children. Comfortable beds. Super location close to the station and bus terminal with bus 166 to Billund and Legoland. Kolding is à nice city with charming streets and an interresting Castle to visit.
