Everything was brilliant. It is an exceptional place to stay. Very interesting, spacious characterful self contained cottage come suite in old half timbered house of which there were several. This place is difficult to describe, you just have to go there , it is amazing. Excellent breakfast in the most amazing room and two different restaurants and a very discreet takeaway. We had a fabulous meal in a restored water mill room.

Can we just say everything? 😄 The beds were fantastic, the air purification ventilation units done the job too. It was extremely warm here at the time of our visit but the facilities were on hand to help us to deal with the heat. They looked after my mum, who was visiting from Scotland so well that when we got her to the airport, she said I've decided to stay if only just to go back to the hotel in Steffeln 😭 The sauna and hot tub area are absolutely incredible with multiple resting areas whatever the weather may be. Breakfast selection was great with many hot and cold dishes, home made and locally sourced jams and ofcourse coffee and tea for us caffeine heads. 😋 We only ordered at the restaurant one evening but the meal we got was absolutely mind blowingly good. Salmon lattice cooked to perfection, with sweet carrots inside that just really all complemented each other perfectly. They even had a small selection of great Scottish whisky to complete the experience. Next day we had a good wander around the village and up the hills which was fantastic despite the temperature being high 20s / low 30s. Visited a working milk farm just on the edge of town which I'd advise anyone to go do, 2 more lovely people and a whole bunch of animals met. Just before check out I had such an amazing time getting a neck back and shoulder massage from Karin which really sent me to another world. Perfect end to our short stay, I'm sure we will be returning soon as my wife is in love with this place as much as I was.

Stadtkyll would be better off investing in tourist activities that residents can also benefit from. Or organizing attractive markets. Otherwise, people won't return because there's little to do, and that wouldn't benefit any hotels or other businesses, and certainly not the village itself!

We went there for the peace and quiet.

We went there for the peace and quiet. If you're looking for action, you won't find it in Stadtkyll. The local bakery and butcher shop are excellent, but for other shopping you have to go to the neighboring town. It's conveniently located on the Kyll cycle path and well-suited for hiking.

The so-called "Panorama Trail" is highly recommended.

The so-called "Panorama Trail" is highly recommended. The central meeting point is Caré Doppelfeld, where young and old gather to chat. The hiking trail to the Kronenburg Reservoir is also highly recommended (along the old railway line, known as the "Kanonenbahn"). There are plenty of benches and hiking trails throughout the region.

A quiet, well-maintained village.

A quiet, well-maintained village. The varying elevations give it a diverse appearance with several picturesque spots. There's a good selection of restaurants and shops. For those with good mobility and seeking peace and fresh air, Stadtkyll is an excellent destination.

I come from Stadtkyll and now live in Düsseldorf. I think Stadtkyll has changed for the worse. It used to have nice restaurants, but now you don't know where to go in the evening. There are plenty of places to eat, but they all close early; you can't get anything to eat after 10 pm. Bad.

There are more beautiful places and villages in the Eifel. The hikes were very simple and not well marked. A map is essential. The restaurants were not of the same quality as we are used to in the Eifel region.

A nice hotel conveniently located close to the L45a cycle route. The owners were very friendly and there was secure storage for our bicycles. We drank a few beers in their busy beer garden which was very nice after a days cycling. There are a couple of supermarkets close by. The apartment has its own little living area, kitchen and balcony! Breakfast was pretty good and we were encouraged to make sandwiches with anything we couldn’t eat, which was very nice.

Price was good, room was clean and had a tv. The beds are adjustable in hight and you can raise your backrest and feet. Kind of weird for an hotel but proved to be useful.
