As we entered the Muhle am Schlossberg we were pleasantly surprised by the decor and design of the hotel. In a very quiet setting with good parking for motorcycles in particular. A very friendly welcome and help with luggage to our room. Great food and wine with excellent service.

Otterberg is a quiet little town, with old buildings and painted houses, not far from Kaiserslautern which is a bigger city offering everything you need and might not find in Otterberg, just a bus ride away or a short drive. Otterberg is surrounded by hills offering many options for paths to walk on no matter the season, without getting bored and you can also find historical and cultural landmarks all over and even memories of Celtic influence, which I especially liked! The city center is very nice and neat, even if it doesn't have many restaurants, cafes or bakeries and such and only 2 main supermarkets, but if you want more, you can just go to Kaiserslautern and then come back to enjoy the scenery and tranquility. Especially at night and in the morning, the city is quiet and when you walk around, you meet many people walking their dogs saying "Hello!" and smiling even if they don't know you. I found this very nice.

I was only there for a business meeting and didn't get to see much of the surroundings, but I did think the area would be worth a second look. The people and the local dialect are friendly, and the landscape seems rural, wooded, and varied.

The location is quiet with nice trails around. The single room was spacious, with a desk, wardrobe, bed, and television. The hotel is clean, though the decor is dated, I enjoyed the stay. The walk into Otterberg village is a short walk, great a bite to eat, or explore the village. Food delivery options on Lieferando are great, with 31 options. The owners are kind and are on-property if you ever need anything.

The room was good and very quiet. The hotel is right on the edge of a big forest, so super convenient for walking, running, etc. Plus, it's just a short, quiet walk to the centre of Otterberg.
