FAQs about hotels in Münster

Germany's Bicycle Capital

Residents of Münster have pride in their city having completely rebuilt its medieval centre after the devastation caused during World War II. This resourcefulness is reinforced by its large student population attending the University of Münster and the many bicycle tracks that make it the bike capital of Germany.

Start your tour at St.Paul’s Cathedral in Domplatz that features an astronomical clock dating back to 1540. Not far away is the Prinzipalmarkt with its 14th-century town hall. St. Lambert’s Church suspends 3 cages from its tower which were used to display the bodies of leaders from the Münster Rebellion.

A favourite pastime for locals is to sit on the banks of Aasee lake or you can hire a bike and explore the countryside of the Westphalia region. The university is set in the botanical garden and includes the Baroque-style Schloss (palace) as its administration centre.

We loved Münster and its people.

We loved Münster and its people. Everyone was chilled and very civilised. It was a vibrant place to visit with a pretty re-built centre. The city is surrounded by a ring of green cycle/walkways. And the bike is KING! We coincided our visit with the Send fair and the spectacular autumn fireworks.

I used the city as a quick overnight stay so didn't see a great deal. The centre although small seemed nice enough. I was hoping to visit Mühlenhof but due to train relays I arrived too late to get there.

Wonderful-sized city with leafy cycle paths and walkways, streams and the lake, plus beautiful architecture, friendly residents and some great food, including delicious Italian ice-cream. Thoroughly enjoyed the art gallery too - well-designed, informative and a pleasure to spend time in - just like the city itself!

Munster is a wonderful University /Cathedral town.

Munster is a wonderful University /Cathedral town. Re built after the war it has been restored to its original façade. The old cobbled streets bars and shopping create a relaxing place to explore. There is a good mix of modern and heritage combined with a wealth of history. It is slightly off the beaten track but a visit is well worthwhile. I had the biggest pizza in a restaurant close to the station and the atmosphere is second to none at night.

We loved the city, pretty and interesting, amazing to experience the amazing network of cycle paths around city on the beautiful tree lined promenade and out of city with pretty route along Dortmund Ems canal. The city has a lovely relaxed and calm vibe still with plenty going on.

Lovely town/city, wonderful market on Wednesday , good cafe/restaurant by the Aasee. Careful where we parked due to the emissions regulations even though we did have the correct car windscreen sticker. Would go again.

This was so far the best hotel I have ever stayed in Germany. Period. The room was spacious and clean. I could sleep well at night, thanks to the comfortable and warm bed, too. Friendly receptionists and workers, which always greeted us with smiles and respect. The location is also central, and we did not have to stroll so far to reach the hotel from the train station. If I must write everything good from this hotel, trust me, I could have made a book. Will definitely stay here again.

Lovely small hotel near the station in Münster. The room was nicely renovated and very clean, the bed was comfortable and there was a good bathroom with a window. It was about a 12 minute walk into the old town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Security was good.

The location of the hotel is just next to Münster station! Surrounded by bakeries and shops so it's super easy to grab snacks or food. 5-10 minutes walk to the old city center. Very nice!

It was perfectly located for a visit to Münster. Nice and close to the lake and equally well situated for the city centre.
