The Rhön region is always worth a visit. And if you find accommodation that offers good value for money, all the better. Zur Postkutsche is simply excellent; it delivers on all the essentials. You just feel right at home.

Ideal for nature lovers. Well-marked hiking trails. A spring with natural carbonation near the village. Moorland meadow, a small private bathing lake, and an observation tower on the Große Mottener Haube hill. Brewery in the neighboring village. Since we aren't riders, we didn't pay attention to designated bridle paths, but paddocks were everywhere.

A traditional inn, a true family business! We found breakfast very cozy, with a private room and a personal cup of coffee. The breakfast was fine; not a huge selection, but just enough. From sweets to cold cuts, fresh rolls, etc.

The surrounding area isn't particularly exciting. A large charging station (Tesla and "regular" EVs) is available next door. Friendly staff, but don't expect a 5-star experience. Breakfast is simple but fine. The same goes for dinner. Suitable for kids too.

We don't think there's much to do in Motten itself.

We don't think there's much to do in Motten itself. We spent a few hours in another town a bit further away (I can't remember the name). There was a bit more to see there, but not much. I see Motten more as an ideal overnight stop on the way to Austria, for example, as it's close to the highway. But I wouldn't want to stay there for three days myself...

Excellent location close to the motorway. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. Good free parking possibilities in front of the accommodation. The hotel has a restaurant serving local dishes. Excellent! And their rosehip wine! Awesome! We had to buy a few bottles to take home :-) There is a small shop with local products in the hotel.

This was our second overnight stay here. Excellent location close to the motorway. Good free parking in front of the accommodation. The hotel has a restaurant serving local dishes. Excellent! And their rosehip wine! Awesome! We had to buy a few bottles to take home again. One of the reasons we stayed here again was the rosehip wine :-)

The breakfast was great also the dinner was good if you like German cuisine. The breakfast buffe was nice, wide variety of breads ,cheese and serials. The coffee was good too. There is a Tesla Super Charger just behind the Hotel which is a huge bonus.

Came in very late but before 23:00 , staff was very friendly and walk me to the room (slightly complicated; breakfast top notch especially the cold meat; in the morning good opportunity to walk around close to the hotel in the countryside
