The hotel room was absolutely amazing , it had everything we needed a big comfortable bed a very usable kitchen a great big bathroom a lounge room as well as a dining table it was fantastic. The breakfast in the morning was on the top floor so you had an amazing view but the room itself was just awesome so cozy in the winter and the food was fantastic as was the lady who looked after us at the breakfast she was amazing

I liked everything about the place. The hotel was cute, with the garden outside to drink or eat during warm weather. It was walking distance to the lake, a bit far from the city center, however, guests receive free bus tickets. There is a parking there. Our room and a bathroom had everything a traveler needs. Firstly, they were spotless clean. Breakfast was delicious, lots of options of fresh and yummy food. Staff was the best, sweet and helpful, working hard but going extra mile to assist, and with the smile.

We booked here on the way to our holiday. Didn't expect too much, just to sleep over. But, it was absolutely amazing accomodation, lovely personel. The offer on breakfast was great, full with fresh and home made stuff. Would definitely return here. Room was big, bed comfortable. you have it 10 min by car to the Lindau island.

The Alte Post is a 300 year old coaching inn. Downstairs the restaurant looks traditional and the food is great! We ate here, outside in the evenings, 3 times during our week's stay - go for the Hawaiian curry chicken :-) . The food is as good as if not better than the food in the main high street restaurants and as it was so hot it was good to be able to eat at our hotel. The breakfast has a choice of eggs cooked specially for you and a buffet style breakfast bar to choose your own meat, cheese, cereals, fruit, yoghurts and bread. The staff were all very friendly and didn't laugh at our attempts to speak German (I'm sure they were laughing inside!). We had a room on the north side of the building on the second floor, which was cool in 30+ degrees. We regretted bringing such heavy cases as there is no elevator - however the staff helped us with them on arrival. There is a little sun terrace on the second floor and we enjoyed reading outside in the evenings with the swifts flying over head. Lindau has everything you need and you can walk around the island's coastline through parks and pathways. Check out the garden pot and statue shop in one of the old railway sheds as you walk past - good thing we were flying home or our car would have ben full! We went by ferry to Konstanz, Mainau Island and Bregenz - all lovely, and if you love gardens, Mainau is a must - the Italian rose garden was in full bloom - heavenly. We also went to Ravensburg and St Gallen by train (trains and buses are free with the Lindau Card - you get this on arrival at your hotel). The whole area is lovely and there are lots of walks and cycle routes around the lake - would definitely have another holiday here.

We stayed in the apartment over looking the lake which we absolutely loved. Extremely spacious with plenty of living space over 2 floors in addition to the bedroom and 2 bath/shower rooms! With 2 balconies/terrace areas this really was a superb spot to enjoy Lindau. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend the Adara , a true boutique hotel with quality and stylish design in abundance.

Lindau was a nice 2 day visit - unfortunately, virtually none of the museums and sites accept the Bodensee Plus Card - a rather expensive 3 or 7 day pass that was sold by the Lindau Tourist Information Center - that was a surprise. Very easy to drive to Brengenz Austria for their offerings.

Lindau is a marvelous village.

Lindau is a marvelous village. We ate at a Greek restaurant close to the hotel that was excellent. My wife and I were in Lindau due to connection problems with our trains. I would love to come back and spend more time there.

We are in our 70s and like to feel safe where we stay and have things to do. We hired bikes and really enjoyed the area. No problem renting electric bikes just around the corner from our accommodation

Wonderful atmosphere in the port the evening we got there as...

Wonderful atmosphere in the port the evening we got there as there had been a regatta. Lots of street food vans and restaurants. Fabulous ice cream from Jean & Jacques! We went back the next morning to have another walk round the place in day time and visited the Hundertwasser Foundation (small exhibition but well worth seeing) followed by a pleasant outdoor lunch at the Alte Post hotel/restaurant before getting back on the road.

We love this town.

We love this town. It is our 3rd visit (& we're from Australia)! It's lovely wandering along the waterfront & through the pedestrian zone. We also like walking all the way from Lindau-Reutin to the island. There are many options for different excursions.

It is a cosy and calm port-town with a medieval charm.

It is a cosy and calm port-town with a medieval charm. It is also well-connected to other towns/cities from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein via train. It's a good idea to use Lindau as a base, and to visit several places from there.

Authentic German hotel with a very friendly staff and excellent German cuisine. Room were small but tidy and well equip. As expected there was no a/c but the windows opened to provide good ventilation. Just be aware that things in Lindau come alive at 6am when the church bell tolls. Wi-Fi and a most excellent breakfast are included. Easy access to all that Lindau island has to offer.

What a great place. Lovely friendly family run hotel. Comfortable, spacious, spotlessly clean rooms. Photos don't do it justice. Everything looked brand new. Great breakfast and a perfect location. If I return to Lindau I will be staying here.

Friendly staff, great view in the distance to the Alps from the balcony, and offered excellent breakfast. Bus across the road for easy access to Lindau Island. (Hotel provided complimentary bus pass).
