Completely new apartment, nicely furnished, comfortable beds. We were not very glad about the ventiation noise and the traffic noise in the morning, but few people would notice that at all - and we will be happy to stay there again. The blinders on windows were excellent.

Travelling with a group of 11 people including 3 children of different ages proves sometimes difficult. Especially when an already booked accomomodation cancels on you at the very last minute. So we were very lucky and happy to find this new property. And we were not disappointed. These completely new appartments have everything a weary traveller (especially a larger group) can ask for: a fully equipped kitchen, a keypad lock (so convenient that you don't have to keep track of one or two keys!), one and a half modern bathrooms (the "half" part came in handy a couple of times...), a huge dining table etc. We used the extra table on the balcony and could seat everyone from the two appartments in one appartment for breakfast. We didn't use the washer/dryer combination but it was great to see that we could have thrown things in the wash (travelling with children...). We travelled with four cars and it was easy to park upfront.

A lovely little town.

A lovely little town. A walk to Plassenburg Castle and the Spießgraben ravine is highly recommended for the fantastic views. Bayreuth and Kronach are not far from Kulmbach. In Bayreuth, don't miss the Margravial Opera and the New Palace, and in Kronach, the Rosenberg Fortress and the Haßlach riverbank with its view of the fortress.

The visit had two reasons: hiking and the Kulmbach Beer Week. Hiking around Kulmbach was lovely but unfortunately a bit wet; however, the Bavarian hospitality lifted everyone's spirits in the evening. We'd gladly come again.

Kulmbach is always a good choice for a short break and I know it from my own time. There are many places to visit around Kulmbach and plenty of nature. The cuisine and the local wheat beer are particularly noteworthy, especially the Kapuziner wheat beer (non-alcoholic) with its spicy flavor.

The Plassenburg castle is highly recommended and easily reachable on foot. It boasts many beautiful, well-preserved half-timbered buildings and churches. There are good restaurants during the day, but Kulmbach is quite quiet in the evenings.

The old town is perfect for strolling and dining. Beer lovers will be in their element here and can even visit the brewery. There's also a castle offering stunning views across Franconian Switzerland.

Beautiful old town.

Beautiful old town. Many destinations are easily accessible by public transport or train. There are some very good restaurants, but it's advisable to book in advance; otherwise, you'll have to try several different places for a table. A visit to Plassenburg Castle is also a must.

It is great that you can arrive any time you need, we arrived around midnight and there was no problem to check-in. The price for the room was very good. There is a quite large parking in front of the hotel (note that there is more space in the back than what is immediately seen from the street). There is a fridge in the room and all facilities necessary to cook. Nice spacy bathroom with a hot shower. Flat-screen TV.

Wonderful apartment in the old town with all the facilities you could need to attend the Kulmbacher Bierwoche. Host very attentive and dealt with issues fast. Loved having the coffee maker, cooking oils, etc there already. So big as well so it was great for our family.
